Performance improvement of IWT BPCS image Steganography

01 Sep 2015-pp 1-5
TL;DR: IWT BPCS image Steganography is a better technique to improve payload capacity and robustness and Integer wavelet transform is much suitable as compare to DWT because IWT does not have to face fractional loss in transform coefficients.
Abstract: Steganography is the technique of embedding secret data into a cover medium which may be a video, audio or image. So it covers the presence of the hidden communication. BPCS image steganography is a scheme with high payload capacity and it has higher invisibility against visual attacks. Image steganography in frequency domain provides high robustness against statistical attacks. In transform domain Integer wavelet transform is much suitable as compare to DWT because IWT does not have to face fractional loss in transform coefficients. So IWT BPCS image Steganography is a better technique to improve payload capacity and robustness.

TL;DR: From the analysis, it is observed that considered MC-CDMA system with encryption algorithm and sparse based super resolution technique mitigates multi-user interference effects while retaining the quality of individual medical images.
Abstract: Multi-carrier code-division-multiple-access (MC-CDMA) is a promising technique to obtain high data rate in wireless communication. Contemplation of medical image transmission for various patient’s information using MC-CDMA system through wireless media is discussed. Arnold cat map encryption algorithm is ensured to enhance the image transmission securely. At each mobile station, transmitted bit stream of encrypted images is estimated using minimum-mean-square error (MMSE) algorithm. The picture quality is ensured at the receiver by adopting super resolution through sparse technique. The performance of considered system through stanford channel model specification is illustrated. PSNR metric is also considered for image transmission. From the analysis, it is observed that considered MC-CDMA system with encryption algorithm and sparse based super resolution technique mitigates multi-user interference effects while retaining the quality of individual medical images. Further, it is witnessed that the channel encoded proposed system’s performance achieves the promising bit-error-rate for MMSE receiver. Furthermore, from the simulation it is discerned that the computational time for super resolution is minimized using considered sparse technique.

TL;DR: This multi-model approach interleaves some frequency domain watermarking strategies to counteract shortcomings of one strategy by the advantages of other to increase the robustness visual attacks.
Abstract: Piracy is a big threat to the original contents. This multi-model approach interleaves some frequency domain watermarking strategies to counteract shortcomings of one strategy by the advantages of other. The original image is divided into spatially disjoint blocks. Watermarking is a way of embedding a mark that hides information in a multimedia carrier. Major issues in Image watermarking are to increase the robustness visual attacks. In this paper, a Review of different watermarking technique are analyzed.

TL;DR: This work attempts to hide the very existence of the message and make communication undetectable in an open environment like the internet.
Abstract: Steganography gained importance in the past few years due to the increasing need for providing secrecy in an open environment like the internet. With almost anyone can observe the communicated data all around, steganography attempts to hide the very existence of the message and make communication undetectable.

TL;DR: Experimental results reveal that the error block replacement with diagonal detail coefficients (CD) gives better PSNR than doing so with other coefficients, suggesting that the DWT based algorithm for image data hiding has been proposed that embeds the secret message in CH band of cover image.
Abstract: Steganography plays an important role in the field of information hiding. It is used in wide variety of applications such as internet security, authentication, copyright protection and information assurance etc. In Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) based steganography approaches the wavelet coefficients of the cover image are modified to embed the secret message. DWT based algorithm for image data hiding has been proposed in the recent past that embeds the secret message in CH band of cover image. This paper intends to observe the effect of embedding the secret message in different bands such as CH, CV and CD on the performance of stegano image in terms of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR). Experimentation has been done using six different attacks. Experimental results reveal that the error block replacement with diagonal detail coefficients (CD) gives better PSNR than doing so with other coefficients.

TL;DR: A novel approach to insertion of watermark in the video sequences that is based on visual cryptography and performs temporal scrambling for watermark embedding and provides a high resilience against some non-hostile video processing schemes, such as geometrical distortions.
Abstract: In this paper we propose a novel approach to insertion of watermark in the video sequences. The proposed scheme is based on visual cryptography and performs temporal scrambling for watermark embedding. Watermark, which may be a visible logo, is frequently split and inserted into video frames. Watermark detection can be verified by the human eye. Inserted watermark is expected to resist collusion attack, which is a major concern in video watermarking. Experimental results show that the proposed method provides a high resilience against some non-hostile video processing schemes, such as geometrical distortions.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper presented a new image steganography technique based on Integer Wavelet Transform and Munkres' assignment algorithm which embeds secret image in frequency domain of cover image with high matching quality.
Abstract: In this paper, we present a new image steganography technique based on Integer Wavelet Transform (IWT) and Munkres' assignment algorithm which embeds secret image in frequency domain of cover image with high matching quality. IWT is used to transform both cover and secret images from spatial domain to frequency domain, and assignment algorithm is used for best matching between blocks for embedding. We embed the secret image in different coefficients of cover image bands such as horizontal detail, vertical detail and diagonal detail and observe the effect of embedding on the performance of stego image in terms of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR). Experimental results depict that stego image and extracted secret image could have high visual quality and they are perceptually similar to their original versions. In addition, this method shows high robustness against six different attacks. Embedding in diagonal detail coefficients gives better PSNR than other coefficients.

TL;DR: An optimal discrete wavelet transform (DWT) based steganography is proposed and experiments show that the peak signal noise ratio (PSNR) generated by the proposed method is better.
Abstract: Steganography is the art of hiding a secret message within an ordinary message and the detection of hidden content is called as steganalysis. In this paper we propose an optimal discrete wavelet transform (DWT) based steganography. First a single level DWT decomposition is done on a host image and the secret information is hidden by manipulating the transform coefficients of the decomposed image. After embedding, the stego image is subjected to various types of image processing attacks such as Gaussian white noise, salt and pepper noise, blurring and sharpening. Experiments show that the peak signal noise ratio (PSNR) generated by the proposed method is better.
