Comprehensive Renewable Energy

Ali Sayigh
TL;DR: The comprehensive renewable energy reference work as discussed by the authors is a multi-volume reference work of its type at a time when renewable energy sources are seen increasingly as realistic alternatives to fossil fuels, and can be considered the definitive work for this subject area.

Multiple surrogate based optimization of a bidirectional impulse turbine for wave energy conversion

TL;DR: In this article, a bidirectional impulse turbine was simulated using CFD technique and optimized using multiple surrogates approach to enhance the robustness of the optimization process by using different surrogates such as response surface approximation, radial basis function, Kriging and weighted average surrogate.

Computed effects of tip clearance on performance of impulse turbine for wave energy conversion

TL;DR: In this article, a 3-D model with tip clearance has been generated to predict the internal flow and performance of the turbine and it is found that the comparison between computed and experimental data is good, quantitatively and qualitatively.
Journal ArticleDOI

An improved radial impulse turbine for OWC

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a new geometry design for the radial version of the impulse turbine, which was initially proposed by M. McCormick, to improve the turbine efficiency by up to 5% more than the geometry proposed by Professor Setoguchi, in 2002.

Impulse Turbine With Self-Pitch-Controlled Guide Vanes For Wave Power Conversion (Guide Vanes Connected By Link Motion)

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of an impulse turbine with self-pitch-controlled guide vanes for wave power conversion has been investigated, and the results show that a high-efficiency impulse turbine can be developed by these of guide vane connected by link motions.

Impulse Turbine With Self-Pitch-Controlled Guide Vanes For Wave Power Conversion: Performance Of Mono- Vane Type

TL;DR: In this paper, an impulse turbine with self-pitch-controlled guide vanes was investigated experimentally by the use of turbine test equipment in which the sinusoidally reciprocating flow conditions are simulated.
