TLDR
In this paper, a sedimentological core and petrographic characterisation of samples from eleven boreholes from the Lower Carboniferous of Bowland Basin (Northwest England) is presented.Abstract:
Deposits of clastic carbonate-dominated (calciclastic) sedimentary slope systems in the rock record have been identified mostly as linearly-consistent carbonate apron deposits, even though most ancient clastic carbonate slope deposits fit the submarine fan systems better. Calciclastic submarine fans are consequently rarely described and are poorly understood. Subsequently, very little is known especially in mud-dominated calciclastic submarine fan systems. Presented in this study are a sedimentological core and petrographic characterisation of samples from eleven boreholes from the Lower Carboniferous of Bowland Basin (Northwest England) that reveals a >250 m thick calciturbidite complex deposited in a calciclastic submarine fan setting. Seven facies are recognised from core and thin section characterisation and are grouped into three carbonate turbidite sequences. They include: 1) Calciturbidites, comprising mostly of highto low-density, wavy-laminated bioclast-rich facies; 2) low-density densite mudstones which are characterised by planar laminated and unlaminated muddominated facies; and 3) Calcidebrites which are muddy or hyper-concentrated debrisflow deposits occurring as poorly-sorted, chaotic, mud-supported floatstones. Shortcut fusion for accumulating parameters & zip-like functions
TL;DR: Despite its simplicity the technique can remove intermediate lists in examples which are known to be difficult and it is shown that it can remove all lists from definitions involving zip-like functions and functions using accumulating parameters.

Transmission electron microscopy study of phase compatibility in low hysteresis shape memory alloys
Rémi Delville,Sakthivel Kasinathan,Zhiyong Zhang,Jan Van Humbeeck,Richard D. James,Dominique Schryvers +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the phase compatibility between austenite and martensite was studied by high-resolution and conventional electron microscopy and the low energy configuration of the interface suggested that it plays an important role in the lowering of hysteresis compared to classical habit plane interfaces.

Variations of the 2-His-1-carboxylate Theme in Mononuclear Non-Heme FeII Oxygenases
TL;DR: It has become clear that the 2‐His‐1‐carboxylate signature is less of a paradigm for non‐heme FeII active sites than had long been thought and that it can be replaced by alternative metal centers in various oxygenases, the structure–function relationships and proposed catalytic mechanisms of which are reviewed here.

Combined in-situ XPS and PTRMS Study of Ethylene Epoxidation over Silver
Valerii I. Bukhtiyarov,A. I. Nizovskii,Hendrik Bluhm,Michael Hävecker,Evgueni Kleimenov,Axel Knop-Gericke,Robert Schlögl +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a combined in-situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and proton-transfer reaction mass-spectrometry (PTRMS) was used to investigate the epoxidation of ethylene over silver at temperatures from 300 to 520 K and a pressure range from 0.07 to 1 mbar.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report detailed low-temperature magnetotransport and magnetization measurements in MnSi under pressures up to ∼12kbar and link the emergence of a giant topological Hall resistivity ∼50nΩcm to the skyrmion lattice phase at ambient pressure.

A review of the features and analyses of the solid electrolyte interphase in Li-ion batteries
TL;DR: The solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) is a protecting layer formed on the negative electrode of Li-ion batteries as a result of electrolyte decomposition, mainly during the first cycle as discussed by the authors.
