Journal ArticleDOI
Complex variation of electron momentum distribution in (Bi,Pb)-2223 oxides across the superconducting transition
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the new feature of a sharp fall in the S -parameter on cooling the sample to its T c (R = 0) and a subsequent complex but partial rise on further cooling.
Journal ArticleDOI
Positron annihilation lifetime studies on La0.5Pb0.5Mn1−yCryO3
TL;DR: In this paper, the anomalous variation of average and bulk positron annihilation lifetime (PAL) measurements on Cr doped La 0.5Pb0.5Mn1−yCryO3 (y=0.075, 0.15,0.35, 0.45) samples showing metal-insulator transitions (MIT) between 178 and 276 K (depending on y).

Electrical conductivity, thermo-electric power and structure of differently heat-treated CdO
TL;DR: The black coloured polymorph of cadmium oxide, that results from its heat treatment at 800°C, is shown to be about 1000 times more conducting than the usual yellowish brown CdO.
Journal ArticleDOI
Different regions of fluctuation conductivity in unirradiated and alpha-irradiated Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ and (Bi,Pb)2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ superconductors
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of irradiation on superconducting microregions was studied in (Bi 0.92 Pb 0.17 )-2212 and (Bi,Pb) 0.14×10 15 He ++ /cm 2 samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of superconductivity on the lifetime of positrons in (Bi,Pb)SrCaCaO
TL;DR: In this article, the temperature dependence of the components of the positron lifetime spectrum in the (Bi,Pb)Sr,Ca,Cu,O superconductor in the interval 78-132 K was studied and it was found that the component τ 1 (connected with the lifetime of delocalized positrons and trapped by shallow levels) does not change noticeably at the superconducting transition.

TL;DR: The temperature dependence between 10 and 300 K of the positron lifetime was measured in the high-temperature superconductors and interpreted in terms of a change in the local charge density of high-{ital T}{sub {ital c}} oxides associated with the superconducting transition.

Positron-annihilation lifetime in the high-T c Oxides
Vladimir Z. Kresin,H. Morawitz +1 more
TL;DR: The superconducting transition affects the positron-annihilation lifetime in the high-Tc oxides as discussed by the authors, due to the unusual properties of the oxides in the normal state and, in particular, to the small Fermi energy.

SIMS of Y1Ba2Cu3O7-x and (Bi,Pb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+δ superconductors
TL;DR: In this paper, secondary ion mass spectrometers of high T c superconducting materials have been studied and it has been found that the variation of secondary ion yield with respect to the bombarding ion energy, in general, shows a broad peak whose location depends on the ion-target combination.
