Abstract
The precipitation of the equilibrium δ-Ni3Nb phase has been studied in two niobium bearing nickel base superalloys—INCONEL 718 and INCONEL* 625—both of which are hardenable by the precipitation of the metastableγ″-Ni3Nb phase. The morphology and the distribution of precipitates have been examined and the crystallographic orientation relationship between the austenite and theδ phases has been determined. The nucleation of theδ phase at stacking faults within pre-existing δ" precipitates has been discussed.

Laser powder bed fused Inconel 718 in stress-relieved and solution heat-treated conditions

TL;DR: Inconel 718 cylindrical rods were fabricated using the laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) technology in the vertical orientation as mentioned in this paper, and the rods were stress-relieved at 980°C for 15min before cutting them from the build plate.

Correlation between grain boundary character distribution and δ-phase precipitation in nickel-based superalloy 718

TL;DR: In this article, the Ni3Nb-DOa intergranular precipitation was quantified along the GBs based on electron backscattering diffraction analysis to identify preferential precipitation sites in consonance with GB misorientation angles.

Cascading of the as-built microstructure through heat treatment and its role on the tensile properties of laser powder bed fused Inconel 718

TL;DR: The microstructures and mechanical properties of the Ni-based superalloy, Inconel 718 (IN718), which was additively manufactured using the laser beam powder bed fusion (LB-PBF) technique in the as-built (AB) and heat treated (HT) conditions were investigated, with emphasis on the microstructural evolution from the AB to HT conditions and, in turn, on the tensile properties as mentioned in this paper.

Configurational Thermodynamics of Solid Solutions

TL;DR: In this article, a review of theoretical models applicable to concentrated solid solutions is presented, focusing on concentrated solutions because dilute ones can be considered as special cases and because the interesting effects of clustering and ordering are most apparent at high solute concentrations.

Heat treatment of 706 alloy for optimum 1200 °F stress-rupture properties

TL;DR: In this article, a heat treatment for 706 alloy was developed which effectively optimizes the 1200°F stress-rupture properties of the alloy by precipitation of globular to plate-like Ni3Cb/Ni3Ti at the grain boundaries in conjunction with maintaining a fine as-forged grain structure.
