TLDR
In this paper, acoustic phonon modes in a rectangular nanoscale waveguide are analyzed analytically in terms of the elastic continuum model and the modes are quantized under the dimensional confinement assumption.

Contrast Time-Density Time on Digital Subtraction Angiography Correlates With Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation Flow Measured by Quantitative Magnetic Resonance Angiography, Angioarchitecture, and Hemorrhage

TL;DR: TT on DSA correlates with cerebral AVM flow measured using QMRA and with AVM angioarchitecture and hemorrhagic presentation and may be an indicator of important AVM characteristics associated with outflow resistance and increased rupture risk, such as venous stenosis.

Nanomechanical systems with normalized and coupled acoustic and electromagnetic modes in piezoelectric structures

TL;DR: In this paper, the quantization of the acoustic modes in nanomechanical systems with coupled acoustic and electromagnetic modes in piezoelectric structures is studied, where the relationship between acoustic modes and the electromagnetic modes can be examined in the limit where the acoustic mode is a single acoustic phonon.

Noise processes in nanomechanical resonators

TL;DR: In this article, a self-contained formalism for treating thermomechanical noise, Nyquist-Johnson noise, and adsorption-desorption noise was developed to estimate the impact that these noise processes will have on the noise of a model nanoscale resonator.

Systems with Small Dissipation

TL;DR: In this paper, a virtual encyclopedia of theoretical formulas, experimental techniques, and practical lore derived from twenty-five years of experience is provided for the experimenter who wishes to construct near-perfect instrumentation, providing information on the role of phonon-phonon scattering as a fundamental source of dissipation.

Phonons in Nanostructures

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a general formulation of carrier-phonon scattering rates for phonons in nanostructures, and a model for carrier-LO-PHONON scattering in bulk cubic crystals.

Quantum Limit of Quality Factor in Silicon Micro and Nano Mechanical Resonators

TL;DR: The physics that gives rise to the quantum limit to the Q-f product is described, design strategies for minimizing other dissipation sources are explained, and new results from several different resonators that approach the limit are presented.
