TLDR
A rapid and sensitive spectrophotometric assay for free fatty acids using rhodamine 6G dye base in benzene as a fatty acid indicator is described, finding negligible to moderate interference by methyl stearate, phosphatidylcholine, cholesterol, partially purified spinach galactolipids, and spinach subchloroplast particle pigments.

Jelly coat and induction of the acrosome reaction in echinoid sperm

TL;DR: Additional studies related to the species specificity of jelly coat with respect to Ca2+ uptake (or exchange), which occurs concomitantly with the acrosome reaction, and activation of phospholipase activity, which appears to occur subsequent to the acosome reaction are presented.

Thermal stability of fatty acid-serum albumin complexes studied by differential scanning calorimetry.

TL;DR: Differential scanning calorimetry has been used to study the thermal stability of bovine serum albumin as affected by binding of fatty acids and sodium dodecyl sulfate, and ligand-poor albumin was strongly stabilized.

Removal of Fatty Acids from Serum Albumin by Charcoal Treatment

TL;DR: Fluorescence spectra of human serum albumin samples indicated that impurities are sometimes present which can be removed by charcoal at neutral pH, and acid-charcoal treatment is a much more rapid method of removing lipid impurities than other methods previously described.
