Micromethod for the direct determination of serum triglycerides.
E. Van Handel,D.B. Zilversmit +1 more
TL;DR: A microprocedure for the direct determination of triglyceride concentrations in biologic specimens is presented and depends on the quantitative removal of phosphatides from the sample and the subsequent determination of esterified glycerol.
Journal ArticleDOI
Separation of lipid classes by chromatography on Florisil.
TL;DR: Preliminary experiments indicated that chromatography on Florisil gave good separations of lipid classes of naturally occurring lipids extracted from liver and blood.

Eine neue Bestimmung der Neutralfette im Blutserum und Gewebe
M. Eggstein,F. H. Kreutz +1 more
TL;DR: “Free” and “total” glycerol, measurable after alcoholic saponification, are determined by Glycerolkinase in a three-step enzymatic proof-reaction by means of micro-methods.

Sugar alcohols (polyols) in fungi and green plants
D. H. Lewis,D. C. Smith +1 more
TL;DR: The role of polyols in storage of reducing power and coenzyme regulation, as well as other phyla, and endogenous metabolism, are reviewed.

Hormone-sensitive lipase and monoglyceride lipase activities in adipose tissue.
TL;DR: A lipase activity present in adipose tissue of both rats and rabbits which exhibits a marked specificity for hydrolysis of monoglycerides is investigated and evidence indicating that this activity is distinct from the hormone-sensitive lipase activit’y and probably also from lipoprotein lipase is presented.
