Multi-objective simultaneous stowage and load planning for a container ship with container rehandle in yard stacks

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-objective integer programming (MOP) problem is formulated to obtain a set of non-inferior solutions of the problem, and a wide variety of numerical experiments demonstrated that solutions by this formulation are useful and applicable in practice.

O.R. Applications Multi-objective simultaneous stowage and load planning for a container ship with container rehandle in yard stacks

TL;DR: A wide variety of numerical experiments demonstrated that solutions by the weighting method are useful and applicable in practice for the ships container stowage and loading plans that satisfy ship stability and minimum number of container rehandles required.

A numerical investigation of the squat and resistance of ships advancing through a canal using CFD

TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed fully nonlinear unsteady RANS simulations to predict the squat and resistance of a model-scale Duisburg Test Case container ship advancing in a canal.

A self-tuning guidance and control system for marine surface vessels

TL;DR: In this article, an integrated guidance and control system was developed to enable underactuated marine surface vessels to operate autonomously and yield robust tracking performance in spite of significant external disturbances and modeling imprecision.

A Low-Cost Unmanned Surface Vehicle for Pervasive Water Quality Monitoring

TL;DR: The architecture of a low-cost unmanned surface vehicle to be employed for the collection of crucial parameters about water quality in rivers, lakes, or sea is discussed and an estimation procedure is applied to a simple mathematical model of oxygen concentration in the water with explicit dependence on biophysical inputs.
