01 Jan 2012-Advanced Materials Research (Trans Tech Publications)-pp 1215-1219
TL;DR: This paper simulates the crowd evacuation of the subway train fire by simulating four passenger densities within the train and the results of the software simulation with the calculation results based on specification are compared.
Abstract: Nowadays urban subway transport system has transformed its role from auxiliary facilities of urban traffic into a key component in people's lives. It is imperative to promote fire safety level of subway system. This paper simulates the crowd evacuation of the subway train fire. Four passenger densities within the train are set and the results of the software simulation with the calculation results based on specification are compared. It is relatively reliable to reflect the influence of the passenger density on the crowd evacuation, and some suggestions are also given out

TL;DR: A simulation model is developed based on Agent and Pathfinder to simulate the evacuation of three subway space types, including platform, station hall and stair, and key data such as crowd speed, number of people passing through space and remaining number are recorded.
Abstract: This study introduces the mainstream theory of crowd evacuation based on multi-agent. Then a simulation model is developed based on Agent and Pathfinder to simulate the evacuation of three subway space types, including platform, station hall and stair. In addition, simulation is also carried out on the situation of the reverse running of the firefighters walking ladder and the different distribution of the crowd density. Finally, the simulation parameters are adjusted respectively to observe and compare the simulation results under different circumstances. Through the simulation of the situation of crowd evacuation under different conditions and parameters, key data such as crowd speed, number of people passing through space and remaining number, number of people passing through exit and evacuation path are recorded. These key data and the above simulation test results are vital for constructive suggestions that can be put forward for subway space design and fire control scheme. TL;DR: In this article, a traffic management plan outside the station is analyzed and evaluated in advance, which can increase evacuation efficiency and reduce the influence of events on society, the plan is evaluated through analyzing and simulation.
Abstract: Emergent events of urban rail transit may cause train delay, even service disruption, and then lead to a large number of passengers stranded. Urban rail transit system is difficult to maintain normal operation, so passengers shall be transported through other traffic modes outside the station. Traffic management plan outside the station is analyzed and evaluated in advance, which can increase evacuation efficiency and reduce the influence of events on society. The plan is evaluated through analyzing and simulation. Firstly, this paper analyzes the influence of events on traffic outside the station and introduces common means of traffic management. Then, this paper studies integrated simulation method and chooses key evaluation indicators, thus use the order of preference by similarity to ideal solution to evaluate the traffic management plan based on simulation. Finally, taking Jiangsu Road station as an example, this paper evaluates the effectiveness of different plans by simulation, the evaluation results show that plan 2 (partial priority) is optimal, which provides a reference for urban rail transit emergency management.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper proposed a theory of passenger evacuation in urban rail transit hubs based on system simulation, and studies the platform structure, platform structure and platform structure of rail transit hub.
Abstract: As one of the most important public transportation facilities in the city, urban rail transit facilities meet a large number of travel needs of the public, however, they are not the most important public transportation facilities in the city. Since most of the rail transit facilities are underground spaces, they are characterized by large flows of people and confined spaces, which can easily cause major disasters in the event of a disaster. Personnel injuries, therefore, are especially important for the study of passenger disaster evacuation in rail transit. The thesis proposes a theory of passenger evacuation in urban rail transit hubs based on system simulation, and studies the platform structure, platform structure, and platform structure of rail transit hubs. The influences of crowd size and crowd density on passenger evacuation, and the design of optimal evacuation scenarios for emergencies through simulation experiments. Evacuation paths and methods. Simulation results show that the evacuation strategy combining the three factors produces good results and can solve the bottleneck problem of emergency evacuation at the station. Reducing casualties, providing guidance for the design of emergency evacuation plans for urban rail stations, and providing guidance for disaster evacuation strategies in stations. Provide informative advice on design.

TL;DR: The limits of visibility range and the attractiveness of leaders to ordinary people are added to the basic cell evacuation model, which helps to study the leadership role played by leaders in the low-visibility environment.
Abstract: This paper mainly focuses on the effects of the range of visibility, the number and position of leaders and the speeds of ordinary people and leaders on evacuation efficiency in public places. This paper adds the limits of visibility range and the attractiveness of leaders to ordinary people in the basic cell evacuation model, which helps us to study the leadership role played by leaders in the low-visibility environment. In the simulation model, only the ordinary people near exits and leaders who are familiar with the environment can evacuate correctly while other individuals can only evacuate within the visibility range. The simulation results show that the model can effectively simulate the crowd evacuation of the single-exit room in low-visibility conditions. The leaders and ordinary people who can see the exit will choose the nearest exit to evacuate. Other ordinary people will follow leaders or most individuals within the visibility range for evacuation. Too low visibility range will increase the evacuation time of the crowd, and reasonably setting the number, initial positions and speeds of leaders can improve evacuation efficiency.

TL;DR: In this paper, a model of safe evacuation from underground fire is built by using network-optimized method, which can not only provide scientific basis for the fire prevention in subway, but also can evaluate the safety of evacuation design in subway after combining fire numerical simulation.
Abstract: A model of safe evacuation from underground fire is built by using network-optimized method.According to the real situation of Nanjing subway,an evacuation simulation based on the model is conducted and analyzed. Then comparing the result with that of the fire drilling organized by Nanjing subway limited company,it is proved that this evacuation model is effective. This model can not only provide scientific basis for the fire prevention in subway, but also can evaluate the safety of evacuation design in subway after combining fire numerical simulation.
