TLDR
A simultaneous analysis system for blood pressure and flow using photoplethysmography and ultrasonic-measurement-integrated simulation is developed and confirmed by analysis of blood flow field in a carotid artery and corresponding wave intensity values.
Abstract
We developed a simultaneous analysis system for blood pressure and flow using photoplethysmography and ultrasonic-measurement-integrated simulation. The validity of the system was confirmed by analysis of blood flow field in a carotid artery and corresponding wave intensity (WI) values.

Human Vital Signs Detection Methods and Potential Using Radars: A Review.

TL;DR: A thorough review on the traditional methods of monitoring cardio-pulmonary rates as well as the potential of replacing these systems with radar-based techniques and a proof-of-concept of a radar- based vital sign detection system are presented.

Photoplethysmography and ultrasonic-measurement-integrated simulation to clarify the relation between two-dimensional unsteady blood flow field and forward and backward waves in a carotid artery

TL;DR: The proposed methodology using PPG and 2D-UMI simulation was shown to be a potential tool to clarify the relation between 2D unsteady blood flow field and the forward and backward waves in a carotid artery.

Tidal breathing flow-volume curves with impedance pneumography during expiratory loading

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a direct mouth pneumotachograph (PNT) and an Impedance Pneumography (IP) during free breathing and expiratory loading (15 cmH20.l/s).

A consistently formulated QUICK scheme for fast and stable convergence using finite-volume iterative calculation procedures

TL;DR: In this article, a new formulation for QUICK is presented by requiring that it satisfy four rules that guarantee physically realistic numerical solutions having overall balance, which is more stable and converges faster than any of the formulations previously employed.

TL;DR: Arterial stiffening with aging increases carotid flow augmentation and can explain the increasing flow fluctuations in cerebral blood vessels.

Relationship between the pressure and diameter of the carotid artery in humans.

TL;DR: The assumption of similarity between pressure and diameter-change waveforms in humans is examined to show that in all patients, the carotid arterial pressure–diameter relationship could, in practice, be regarded as being linear.

Clinical usefulness of wave intensity analysis.

TL;DR: This work developed a real-time non-invasive measurement system for wave intensity based on a combined color Doppler and echo-tracking system and evaluated hemodynamic effects of sublingual nitroglycerin in normal subjects and patients with various cardiovascular diseases.

Clinical usefulness of carotid arterial wave intensity in assessing left ventricular systolic and early diastolic performance.

TL;DR: Wave intensity (WI) is a noninvasively obtained, clinically useful parameter for the evaluation of LV systolic and early diastolic performance at the same time and is demonstrated to reflect LV contractile performance.
