Smart Management and Power Consumption Forecasting in Passenger Transport

TL;DR: Rolling-stock control systems allow getting information about characteristic quantity in the regime of real-time and consequently form an adaptive transportation strategy for electric passenger transport and gives a possibility of justified changes in interstation distance in case competition terms of providing interstation intervals of rolling-stock passenger service quality are observed.
Abstract: Modern approaches to development and management of passenger transportation include aspects of efficient electricity consumption in line with “open sky” concept, and intelligent logistics. Both scientific community and empiricists agree upon the importance of including intelligent models in management of studied systems and their elements as well as in forecasting their operational characteristics. Intelligence of these systems is defined by the existence of technical and technological solutions in the sphere of artificial intellect. Communication systems and networks provoke the dynamic evolution of transport and logistics practically in all directions which allows effectively managing power flows functioning in them. Models designed to calculate electricity consumption of trams and trolleys are based on the assumptions about passenger traffic being constant, which, in our view, needs correction and clarification. Rolling-stock control systems allow getting information about characteristic quantity in the regime of real-time and consequently form an adaptive transportation strategy for electric passenger transport. Academic and research approach to tackling this problem means to design forecast models of passenger traffic flows using artificial neural networks and based on them adaptive selection and adjustment of passenger capacity according to the respective dynamics. In the process of developing route descriptor, this gives a possibility of justified changes in interstation distance in case competition terms of providing interstation intervals of rolling-stock passenger service quality are observed.

Abstract: The purpose of the study is to develop a method for the formation of a competitive strategy for a transport and logistics company. The study found that the existing classifications of the competitive advantages of transport and logistics companies do not contain a number of important classification features that characterize their length in time, the degree of complexity and sustainability, and also do not take into account some sources of competitive advantages. The result of the study is the obtained method for monitoring the process of forming a competitive strategy for a transport and logistics company, which is based on an analysis of the macro and microenvironment and the choice of appropriate research tools on the basis of the structural-logical filtering of external and internal factors.

TL;DR: The elaboration of the suggested approaches involves traditional and modern management models, including the models for estimating the entropy of the logistics system and the entropic model, which consists of the calculation of parameters of adaptation of the type, structure and properties of the available charging stations on the city road network.
Abstract: Modern approaches to organization and management of an urban energy system deal with the optimal placement of charging stations for electric cars and other vehicles, that have dynamic charging while driving. The electric power flows are allocated between the consumers and must be taken into account in logistics network model under study in order to ensure sustainable and stable generation of energy for the urban transportation. Integration of different functional areas into the process of power supply of electric vehicles allows to optimize the total expenses for the city transportation service. The energy aspects of functioning of logistics systems are directly related to the problems of environmental protection in cities and locations of energy sources concentration. The distribution and redistribution of the energy power flows are an urgent applied research task, which is emerging as a promising work in the field of design of deployment models of electric charging stations on the city road network. The elaboration of the suggested approaches involves traditional and modern management models, including the models for estimating the entropy of the logistics system. The entropic model consists of the calculation of parameters of adaptation of the type, structure and properties of the available charging stations on the city road network. Planning of placement and layouts of charging stations is carried out after the final stage in calculating the parameter of organization of functioning of the analyzed resource-supplying logistics network. The total result and planned economic parameters of the charging stations should be measured and controlled.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify the most problematic development hurdles and their comprehensive overcoming in the context of digital transformation of residential development projects, which contributes to effective demand, optimizes the distribution of risk between construction work participants and expands the use of preventive mechanisms for the out-of-court settlement of commercial disputes arising in the construction sector.
Abstract: Abstract Introduction. The unwanted slowdown of the housing construction process, triggered by the coronavirus crisis, does not cancel the tasks set by the national project “Housing and the Urban Environment”. The practical analysis of the housing sector has confirmed that the economic recovery of the housing construction industry cannot be regarded as an outcome of inconsistent measures. The novelty of the approach lies in the identification of the most problematic development hurdles and their comprehensive overcoming in the context of digital transformation of residential development projects, which contributes to effective demand, optimizes the distribution of risk between construction work participants and expands the use of preventive mechanisms for the out-of-court settlement of commercial disputes arising in the construction sector. Materials and methods. A quick analysis of the current situation in the housing sector, including the one in the regions, has identified the most important factors hindering the growth of business activities in this industry. Methods of systems analysis, adjusted in terms of time and space, made it possible to apply situational analysis tools to the housing construction sector. Results. A repeated discussion of the reasons for the contraction of housing construction which is underway on discussion platforms of the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation, NOSTROY, RANEPA, MGSU, etc. has revealed that the comprehensive implementation of aggregated effects that accompany the transition to project funding is impossible without the implementation of the principle of “risk symmetry”, effective demand support, prevention of conflicts of interests between construction participants and the practical implementation of the potential of digital transformation of investment and construction processes in the project format at all stages of the life cycle of a construction project. Conclusions. The nurture of a qualitatively new digital environment in the housing sector will change not only its planning, controlling and expert functions, but also the evaluation and communication mechanisms, as it contributes to reduction of transaction and operational costs, boosts the efficiency and objectivity of construction control, increases trust and partnership solidarity, narrows the scope of litigation and reduces the number of bankruptcies, etc., thus, setting the stage for an accelerated recovery and growth of the housing construction.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a recommendation system that offers to form a package of services in the delivery and assembly of a batch of orders based on the established preferences of other customers and users of the services.
Abstract: Modern approaches to the organization and management of logistics operators include issues directly related to the forecasting of the dynamics of the processes of the company under study, as well as the development of recommendations for further functioning in the market of goods and services. Services integrated into the order and delivery logistics system are an integral part of it and accompany the flow processes throughout the supply chain. Nowadays, the complex of information technologies, communications and technological solutions allows implementing the most daring offers of logistics companies. Innovative solutions developed using information technologies develop the complex “design-practical implementation” in logistics systems and form a digital space for managing material flows. The calculation of the forecast values of the indicators that characterize the order requires research from the point of view of taking into account the already known preferences of customers. We are talking about recommendation systems that offer to form a package of services in the delivery and assembly of a batch of orders based on the established preferences of other customers and users of the services. The well-known preferences of customers when accessing logistics services form the basis for developing recommendations that are close to them. The obtained data of forecasts of the state of the system under study should provide an opportunity to develop an individual package of solutions, based on the already known preferences of other users. The key value is the information that is used in this model to build forecasts. The practice of finding solutions in the management of order procedures in logistics is an analysis of the key problems and “problem points” that affect the overall performance indicator, taking into account the geography of transport systems, established trade practice, the characteristics of the markets studied and the location of each, specifically selected company.

TL;DR: A complex of measures is described, which, if implemented systematically, will help efficiently improve the traffic situation in Russia and can only be achieved through an integrated approach towards the above-listed measures.
Abstract: The present article discusses a system approach to solving traffic problems in large cities in Russia, where traffic jams become more and more frequent. A complex of measures is described, which, if implemented systematically, will help efficiently improve the traffic situation, in particular: 1) increase in the throughput transport capacity of city streets and roads (using the entire width of the road for traffic, bringing the lanes' width to the values corresponding to the traffic velocity, using modern traffic-light regulation methods, sustaining the road usage coefficient at the value 0.7-0.8); 2) preventing massive violations of traffic rules (video monitoring, reforming the supervision authorities), 3) considering traffic requirements in urban development policies (altering urban development priorities), 4) increase in the quality of public transport operation (creating transportation hubs, introduction of separate traffic lanes and priority at crossroads, decrease in the loading of automobiles during the rush hour). It is emphasized that the desirable result can only be achieved through an integrated approach towards the above-listed measures, as implementation of just some of them, but not all, will not help to eliminate traffic jams.
