Journal ArticleDOI
Empirical parameters for donor and acceptor properties of solvents
TL;DR: In this article, a clear distinction is made between nucleophilic and electrophilic solvent functions towards the solute and rules are presented which are extremely useful in choosing the most suitable solvent for a particular purpose.
Book ChapterDOI
Design of organic complexing agents Strategies towards properties
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that information stored in various structural features allows the thermodynamic and kinetic features of the complexation process to be monitored, and further progress may be achieved by making use of the feedback from present results to adjust and improve the model and to analyze the information-property relationship.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effectivity of solvents as electron pair donors
TL;DR: In this paper, the effectivity of solvents as electron pair donors, their donicity as expressed by their donor numbers DN, is reexamined, and the linear dependence of the enthalpy and the Gibbs free energy for the reaction of donor compounds with antimony pentachloride is affirmed.
