TL;DR: In this study, the possibility to manage the batch-to-batch variability of an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in a high drug loaded formulation on a continuous line was investigated to obtain consistent tablet CQAs and appropriate ranges of CPPs were defined to ensure both product CZAs and process stability.

Abstract: The effect of mechanical vibrations on the physical characteristics and dynamic behavior of cohesive and noncohesive powders and granular materials is a subject of broad engineering interest. For instance, it is well known that under certain conditions the application of mechanical vibrations will cause bulk powdered materials to consolidate or to compact, this process being accompanied by an increase in strength. On the other hand, given an alternative set of conditions, the application of vibrations will cause bulk materials to dilate and undergo a reduction in strength. It is important, therefore, that these two apparently diverging characteristics be understood. As is usually the case, these characteristics are used to advantage to achieve certain desired objectives in powder handling and processing. However, situations may occur in practice where the presence of vibrations will have a detrimental effect on the handling and processing of bulk materials. It is important in such cases, that the full significance be understood so that adequate steps may be taken for preventative action at the design stage or for corrective action during the process or plant operation.

TL;DR: In this article, a new method to quantify and characterize the sticky point temperature (T s ) of fruit powder was explored using a rheometer technique, which utilized a serrated parallel plate to hold the samples and was operated in dynamic oscillation mode at a frequency of 1 ǫ and a constant strain amplitude of 2%.
