Interactive software for calculating the principal stresses of compacted cohesive powders with the Warren-Spring equation

TL;DR: The Wolfram Project Demonstration as discussed by the authors shows how to find the Unconfined Yield Stress and Major Consolidation Stress of a cohesive powder's compact by constructing two Mohr semicircles that are tangential to the YLC; the first passing through the origin (0,0) and the second at the consolidation conditions (σ 0,τ0).
Journal ArticleDOI

Determination of Bulk Flow Property of tef Flour and Seed and Design of a Silo

TL;DR: In this article, the flowability of bulk materials was determined after development of yield locus, wall yields locus and effect of time consolidation was measured, and the relative difference between tef flour and tef seed was made in which the flour has a characteristics indicator of particle size distribution with lower dimension and the seed is cohesive and less flowable.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of the radial flow assumption in a converging model silo

TL;DR: In this paper, an empirical analysis was carried out on the flow parameters in a converging silo model using the data of Sielamowicz, Blonski, and Kowalewski (2006), obtained using digital particle image velocimetry.
Journal ArticleDOI

The interaction of bulk solid characteristics and surface parameters in surface or boundary friction measurements

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of such factors as wall surface roughness, particle size distribution, moisture content and shear velocity or strain rate on the behavior of powders and bulk solids in contact with surfaces of handling plant such as hoppers and chutes is examined.
Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of the granulometric condition on the flow characteristics of shredded grain products in their dependence on the duration of storage

TL;DR: In this paper, the flow characteristic of pig-feed is determined in dependence on the granulometric conditions and the storage period, and three samples of mixed pig feed were produced with a transformed median x50;3 ⎎ of 0.335mm, 1.0mm and 5.2mm.
