Stereochemistry of uranyl complexes of new heterocyclic nitrogen containing aldehydes. i. novel relationship for o-u-o frequencies center

TL;DR: In this paper, a relation between symmetric V1 and asymmetric v3 O-U-O frequencies independent on the masses of oxygen (Mo) and uranium (Mu) atoms was proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of substituents on the structure of dioxouranium(VI) complexes of 7-carboxaldehyde-8-hydroxyquinoline and some of its Schiff bases

TL;DR: A series of dioxouranium(VI) complexes with 7-carboxaldehyde-8hydroxyquinoline (oxine) and with some of its Schiff bases, LH, have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, electronic and vibrational spectral studies as discussed by the authors.

Thermal and Spectral Studies on New Complexes of 7-Carboxaldehyde-8-Hydroxyquinoline and Some Substituted Derivatives of Its Schiff Bases

TL;DR: A series of complexes formed by the interaction of UO2 (AcO)2 and some potentially bidentate ligands, aniline, o-hydroxy, carboxaldehyde, 8- hydroxyqvinoline abbreviated as ML1, H2L2, H 2L3, HL4, HL5 and HL6, respectively, have been synthesized as mentioned in this paper.

Chelated complexes of cadmium(II), cobalt(II), copper(II), mercury(II), nickel(II), uranyl(II) and zinc(II) with benzil bis(4-phenylthiosemicarbazone)

TL;DR: In this article, the properties of benzil bis(4-phenylthiosemicarbazone), H2BPT, and its ligand were investigated using elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility and spectroscopic measurements.

Synthesis, characterization, and antibacterial studies of mixed ligand dioxouranium complexes with 8-hydroxyquinoline and some amino acids

TL;DR: Mixed ligand complexes of dioxouranium (VI) of the type [UO2(Q)(L)·2H2O] have been synthesized using 8-hydroxyquinoline (HQ) as a primary ligand and amino acids such as L-threonine, L-tryptophan, and L-isoleucine as secondary ligands to study the antibacterial activity of the complexes.

Electronic Structure, Spectra, and Magnetic Properties of Oxycations. III. Ligation Effects on the Infrared Spectrum of the Uranyl Ion

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of uranyl complexes KxUO2Ly(NO3)2, where L is the variable ligand (or ligands), has been prepared; it has been shown that a ligand series may be defined using the antisymmetric stretching frequency of the uranyl entity, and this series exhibits a remarkable parallelism with the spectrochemical series defined by Δ in octahedral complexes of transition metals of the first and 2nd series.

Infrared Spectra of Metal Chelate Compounds. VI. A Normal Coordinate Treatment of Oxalato Metal Complexes

TL;DR: In this paper, a normal coordinate treatment made on the 1:1, metal:ligand model of the chelate ring of tris(oxalato)‐Cr(III) resulted in the assignment of metaloxygen stretching bands in the range between 600 and 300 cm-1 for various oxalato complexes.

The electronic structure, spectra, and magnetic properties of actinyl ions: Part I. The uranyl ion

TL;DR: In this paper, the 1-electron MO energy levels of UO2++ have been calculated using rough estimates of overlap integrals of a set of a Slater orbitals presumed to correspond to the relevant oxygen and uranium atomic orbitals.

Infrared spectra of some uranyl nitrate complexes

TL;DR: The preparative methods for some uranyl nitrate complexes have been re-investigated and the i.r. spectra of these complexes are consistent and all show the presence of bidentate nitrate groups.
