Stereochemistry of uranyl complexes of new heterocyclic nitrogen containing aldehydes. i. novel relationship for o-u-o frequencies center

TL;DR: In this paper, a relation between symmetric V1 and asymmetric v3 O-U-O frequencies independent on the masses of oxygen (Mo) and uranium (Mu) atoms was proposed.

Effect of substituents on the structure of dioxouranium(VI) complexes of 7-carboxaldehyde-8-hydroxyquinoline and some of its Schiff bases

TL;DR: A series of dioxouranium(VI) complexes with 7-carboxaldehyde-8hydroxyquinoline (oxine) and with some of its Schiff bases, LH, have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, electronic and vibrational spectral studies as discussed by the authors.

Synthesis, characterization, and antibacterial studies of mixed ligand dioxouranium complexes with 8-hydroxyquinoline and some amino acids

TL;DR: Mixed ligand complexes of dioxouranium (VI) of the type [UO2(Q)(L)·2H2O] have been synthesized using 8-hydroxyquinoline (HQ) as a primary ligand and amino acids such as L-threonine, L-tryptophan, and L-isoleucine as secondary ligands to study the antibacterial activity of the complexes.

Correlation between the vibronic spectra of the uranyl ion and the geometry of its coordination

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the geometry of coordination of ligands around uranyl and not the nature of the ligands determines frequencies and intensities of the spectral transitions in uranyl compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Raman and infrared spectroscopic studies of the uranyl ion: the symmetric stretching frequency, force constants, and bond lengths

TL;DR: The symmetric and asymmetric stretching frequencies have been used in the calculation of stretching and interaction force constants from which have been derived an estimate of the uranium-oxygen bond lengths by use of Badger's rule.

Identification of the Lower Transitions in the Spectra of Uranyl Complexes

TL;DR: In this paper, the typical low-energy spectra of the uranyl complexes were interpreted by using group theory and qualitative molecular orbital theory, and a comparative study of the effects of ligation on the spectrum showed that the observed facts can be rationalized by means of one possible identification scheme.
