TL;DR: In this article, a control circuit is configured to determine a value of the tissue compression parameter via the sensor as the jaws transition from the open configuration to the closed configuration, which causes the motor to increase a time to transition the jaws to a closed configuration according to whether the value of tissue compression parameters is above a first threshold, and provide feedback when the value is below a second threshold.
Abstract: A surgical instrument includes an end effector, a motor for opening and closing the jaws, a sensor configured to detect a tissue compression parameter associated with a tissue between the jaws, and a control circuit. The control circuit is configured to determine a value of the tissue compression parameter via the sensor as the jaws transition from the open configuration to the closed configuration, cause the motor to increase a time to transition the jaws to the closed configuration according to whether the value of the tissue compression parameter is above a first threshold, and provide feedback according to whether the value of the tissue compression parameter is below a second threshold.

TL;DR: In this article, a number of improvements are provided relating to computer aided surgery, which relate to both the methods used during computer assisted surgery and the devices used during such procedures and how the tools can be controlled automatically to improve the efficiency of the procedure.
Abstract: A number of improvements are provided relating to computer aided surgery. The improvement relates to both the methods used during computer aided surgery and the devices used during such procedures. Some of the improvement relate to controlling the selection of which data to display during a procedure and/or how the data is displayed to aid the surgeon. Other improvements relate to the structure of the tools used during a procedure and how the tools can be controlled automatically to improve the efficiency of the procedure. Still other improvements relate to methods of providing feedback during a procedure to improve either the efficiency or quality, or both, for a procedure.

TL;DR: In this article, a patient can be tracked throughout medical treatment including through initial onset of symptoms, diagnosis, non-surgical treatment, surgical treatment, and recovery from the surgical treatment.
Abstract: Various systems and methods are provided for surgical and interventional planning, support, post-operative follow-up, and functional recovery tracking. In general, a patient can be tracked throughout medical treatment including through initial onset of symptoms, diagnosis, non-surgical treatment, surgical treatment, and recovery from the surgical treatment. In one embodiment, a patient and one or more medical professionals involved with treating the patient can electronically access a comprehensive treatment planning, support, and review system. The system can provide recommendations regarding diagnosis, non-surgical treatment, surgical treatment, and recovery from the surgical treatment based on data gathered from the patient and the medical professional(s). The system can manage the tracking of multiple patients, thereby allowing for data comparison between similar aspects of medical treatments and for learning over time through continual data gathering, analysis, and assimilation to decision-making algorithms.

TL;DR: In this article, a system, method and apparatus for eliminating image tearing effects and other visual artifacts perceived when scanning moving subject matter with a scanned beam imaging device is presented, which uses a motion detection means in conjunction with an image processor.
Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for eliminating image tearing effects and other visual artifacts perceived when scanning moving subject matter with a scanned beam imaging device. The system, method and apparatus uses a motion detection means in conjunction with an image processor to alter the native image to one without image tearing or other visual artifacts. The image processor monitors the motion detection means and reduces the image resolution or translates portions of the imaged subject matter in response to the detected motion.

TL;DR: In this paper, a first magnetic field can be produced across a tissue region using a first magnetometer, providing a magnetic coupling force between the first magnetic source and a first object, wherein the first object provides a magnetic field or a magnetic susceptibility to obtain the magnetic coupling forces.
Abstract: A first magnetic field can be produced across a tissue region using a first magnetic field source, providing a magnetic coupling force between the first magnetic field source and a first object, wherein the first object provides a magnetic field or a magnetic susceptibility to obtain the magnetic coupling force. The magnetic coupling force can be sensed using a force sensor and a resulting sensed force signal can be provided to a controller. The controller can provide an output signal to control the magnetic coupling force using the sensed forced signal to obtain a constant or desired magnetic coupling force.
