Solution of the matrix equation AX + XB = C [F4]

TL;DR: The algorithm is supplied as one file of BCD 80 character card images at 556 B.P.I., even parity, on seven ~rack tape, and the user sends a small tape (wt. less than 1 lb.) the algorithm will be copied on it and returned to him at a charge of $10.O0 (U.S.and Canada) or $18.00 (elsewhere).
Journal ArticleDOI

Axiomatic foundation of the analytic hierarchy process

TL;DR: In this article, an axiomatic treatment of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is presented, which is a special case of axioms for priority setting in systems with feedback which allow for a wide class of dependencies.
Journal ArticleDOI

An iterative solution method for linear systems of which the coefficient matrix is a symmetric -matrix

TL;DR: A particular class of regular splittings of not necessarily symmetric M-matrices is proposed, if the matrix is symmetric, this splitting is combined with the conjugate-gradient method to provide a fast iterative solution algorithm.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quasi-Newton Methods, Motivation and Theory

TL;DR: In this paper, an attempt to motivate and justify quasi-Newton methods as useful modifications of Newton''s method for general and gradient nonlinear systems of equations is made, and references are given to ample numerical justification; here we give an overview of many of the important theoretical results.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Quadratic Eigenvalue Problem

Françoise Tisseur, +1 more
- 01 Feb 2001 -
TL;DR: This work surveys the quadratic eigenvalue problem, treating its many applications, its mathematical properties, and a variety of numerical solution techniques.
