TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the effect of LS on academic staff performance (ASP) in Iraq and proposed job satisfaction as a mediator between LS, TFL, TSL, and ASP.
Abstract: -Leadership style (LS) has not been effectively examined in educational institution in developing countries. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of LS on academic staff performance (ASP) in Iraq. Based on the review, the study proposed that LS and its components; transformational leadership (TFL) and transactional leadership (TSL) will affect ASP. In addition, the study proposed job satisfaction (JS) as a mediator between LS, TFL, TSL, and ASP. Methodology The population of this study is the Iraqi academic staff in Baghdad. A stratified sampling technique was deployed to collect 297 responses from nine universities in Baghdad. The findings showed that LS, TFL and TSL have significant effect on ASP. JS mediated partially the effect of LS, TFL and TSL on ASP. Decision makers are advised to implement the TFL and increase the JS among academic staff.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the impact of technology acceptance on behavioral intention (BI) to use e-learning among academics at three private universities in Iraq that implemented the elearning.
Abstract: This study investigates the impact of technology acceptance on behavioral intention (BI) to use e-learning among academics at three private universities in Iraq that implemented the e-learning. The study used the stratified sampling technique to ensure equal representation of the population. The data were collected by using questionnaires sent via google form to academics due to the movement control order during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study employed the Unified Technology Acceptance and Use Technology (UTAUT) which consisted of Performance Expectancy (PE), Effort Expectancy (EE), Social Influences (SI), Facilitating Conditions (FC) and a new element, the Personal Innovativeness (PI). 187 valid responses were obtained and the data were analyzed by using the structural equation model. The results indicated the PE, EE and FC increased the willingness to use e-learning among academics and had a positive and significant impact on BI, while SI and PI had an insignificant impact on BI to use e-learning. The findings implied that decision-makers at universities should enhance the technological infrastructure at the universities and provide sufficient training to academics to encourage them to e-learning.

TL;DR: Awareness of organizational trust and commitment can be beneficial to leaders and managers, as they can handle, develop and empower their workers better with this information.
Abstract: Background and purpose: Health care organizations should apply new methods to motivate their employees be more effective and successful. This can be achieved by commitment to the organization and trusting their managers. Therefore, health care organizations must take care of the commitment and trust aspects in order to have a full knowledge of employees and to increase organizational performance and effectiveness. The present study aims to link sub-dimensions of organizational trust and sub-dimensions of organizational commitment of administrative personnel of health care organizations. Methodology: The survey was conducted among 156 administrative personnel in health organizations in Turkey. Sub-dimensions of organizational trust and sub-dimensions of organisational commitment were linked and correlated. Nyhan and Marlowe’s OTI survey was used for the assessment of organizational trust and Meyer’s and Allen’s OCQ for the assessment of organizational commitment. Correlation, Path analysis and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) were used to analyse the data with the help of SPSS and SmartPLS programs. Results: Results suggest that trust in organization has a positive impact on effective organizational commitment and continuance organizational commitment, however, has not impact on normative organizational commitment. Additionally, trust in supervisors has a positive impact on affective organizational commitment, continuance organizational commitment and normative organizational commitment. Conclusion: Awareness of organizational trust and commitment can be beneficial to leaders and managers, as they can handle, develop and empower their workers better with this information. Moreover, the key point is that all leaders and managers should focus on creating an atmosphere that will make workers very more committed and trusting, hence, to enable them perform beyond their formal duty requirements. TL;DR: The book aims to provide the skills necessary to begin to use SEM in research and to interpret and critique the use of method by others.
Abstract: Designed for students and researchers without an extensive quantitative background, this book offers an informative guide to the application, interpretation and pitfalls of structural equation modelling (SEM) in the social sciences. The book covers introductory techniques including path analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, and provides an overview of more advanced methods such as the evaluation of non-linear effects, the analysis of means in convariance structure models, and latent growth models for longitudinal data. Providing examples from various disciplines to illustrate all aspects of SEM, the book offers clear instructions on the preparation and screening of data, common mistakes to avoid and widely used software programs (Amos, EQS and LISREL). The book aims to provide the skills necessary to begin to use SEM in research and to interpret and critique the use of method by others.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors go beyond the existing distinction between attitudinal and behavioral commitment and argue that commitment, as a psychological state, has at least three separable components reflecting a desire (affective commitment), a need (continuance commitment), and an obligation (normative commitment) to maintain employment in an organization.

TL;DR: Generalizable relationships large enough to have substantial practical value were found between unit-level employee satisfaction-engagement and business-unit outcomes of customer satisfaction, productivity, profit, employee turnover, and accidents.
Abstract: Based on 7,939 business units in 36 companies, this study used meta-analysis to examine the relationship at the business-unit level between employee satisfaction-engagement and the business-unit outcomes of customer satisfaction, productivity, profit, employee turnover, and accidents. Generalizable relationships large enough to have substantial practical value were found between unit-level employee satisfaction-engagement and these business-unit outcomes. One implication is that changes in management practices that increase employee satisfaction may increase business-unit outcomes, including profit.
