Journal ArticleDOI

Pipeline–Seabed Interaction

TL;DR: A review of the existing research on the interaction between a pipeline and an erodible bed exposed to waves and/or currents is presented in this paper, where the basic mechanism that leads to scour in two-dimensional and three-dimensional (3D) cases is first described, as deduced from small-scale laboratory experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Local scour around two pipelines in tandem in steady current

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effects of the gap ratio on the scour depth and scour time scale of two identical pipelines in a tandem arrangement, where the two-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations, together with the conservation equation of the sediment mass are solved to simulate the flow around two pipelines and the evolution of the local scour profile below the pipelines.

A Review of Wave/Current-Induced Scour Around Pipelines

TL;DR: A comprehensive review of scour around pipelines in the case of noncohesive sediment is presented in this article, which is organized in four main sections, namely the two-dimensional scour, the three-dimensional, the eifect scour on forces on and vibrations of pipelines and the mathematical modelling of the scour process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical modelling of pipeline scour under the combined action of waves and current with free-surface capturing

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the numerical modelling of pipeline scour under the co-directional combined action of waves and current including the prediction of the unsteady free surface.
