Molybdenum and Molybdenum Compounds

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a survey of the Molybdenum chemistry and its application in various areas of industry, such as mining, automotive, agriculture, and economic aspects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solvatochromism of Mono- and Dimolybdenum Coordination Compounds of Dipyridyloctatetraene and Linear Solvation Energy Relationship Models Based on the Kamlet-Taft and Drago Scales of Solvent Polarity.

TL;DR: The heteroleptic molybdenum complexes have been analyzed quantitatively by means of linear solvation energy relationships based on Kamlet-Taft solvatochromism parameters, as well as on Drago's "unified scale of solvent polarity".
Journal Article

Synthesis and dynamic nuclear magnetic resonance studies of pentafluorobenzenethiolate complexes of molybdenum and tungsten. The crystal and molecular structures of [W(SC6F5)3(CO)(η5-C5H5)]•O.5CH2Cl2 and [N(PPh3)2][Mo(SC6F5)4(η5-C5H5)]

TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction between [WBr 3 (CO) 2 (η 5 -C 5 H 5 )] and excess of Tl(SC 6 F 5 ) affords Tl[WBr 2 (CO), η 5 −C 5H 5 )] (2b) as the major product and [W(SC6F 5 ) 3 ( CO), Δ − 5 − C 5 H5 )] (3) as minor product.

Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of bis(η-pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)dimethylmolybdenum using molybdenum atoms

TL;DR: Co-condensation of hexamethylcyclopentadiene with molybdenum atoms forms bis(η-pentamethyl-cyclopentadienyl)dimethylmoly bdenum via a carbon- carbon bond addition reaction to the metal as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interesting synthetic routes from the reinvestigation of the reaction of the M(CO)6 (M=Cr, Mo and W) species with KOH

TL;DR: Reinvestigation of the reaction of M(CO)6 (M=Cr, Mo or W) with KOH has been found to provide a very convenient route to the K[M2H( CO)10] compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

The role of α-hydrogen elimination reactions in the formation of η3-cyclopropenyl-and η4-cyclopentadiene-molybdenum complexes

TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of the Grignard reagents RMgX (R = Me or CHCH2) with [MoR(η2-PhC2Ph){P(OMe)3}2( η-C5H5)][BF4] leads to selective attack on molybdenum and formation of the complexes, which undergo thermally promoted α-hydrogen elimination reactions to give η3-cyclopropenyl and η4-cyclopentadiene complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new method of preparation of the anionic decacarbonyls M2(CO)102− (M = Cr, Mo, W) and syntheses and properties of Mg(THF)2[M2(CO)10]

TL;DR: In this article, the anionic decacarbonyIs M 2 (CO) 10 2− were synthesized via reduction reactions of CrCl 3, MoCl 5 and WCl 6 with metallic magnesium or sodium amalgam under carbon monoxide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and reactivity of [MCl2(CNBut)3(PMe3)2] (M = Mo or W): preparation of [MCl(CNBut)4(PMe3)2]Cl and [M(SnCl3)(CNBut)3(PMe3)3](SnCl3) derivatives. The crystal structure of [MoCl(CNBut)4(PMe3)2]Cl·2Me2CO

TL;DR: The reaction of the sixteen-electron paramagnetic complex [MCl 2 (PMe 3 ) 4 ](M = Mo or W) with CNBu t gives the eighteenelectron diamagnetic seven-coordinate complex [MoCl 2(CNBu t ) 3 (Pme 3 ) 2 ] (1) or [WCl 2 [CNBU t ] 3 (pMe 3 ] (2) ] (3) as mentioned in this paper, which has a capped trigonal prismatic structure in solid state.
