Craig T. January,L. Samuel Wann,Joseph S. Alpert,Hugh Calkins,Joaquin E. Cigarroa,Joseph C. Cleveland,Jamie B. Conti,Patrick T. Ellinor,Michael D. Ezekowitz,Michael E. Field,Katherine T. Murray,Ralph L. Sacco,William G. Stevenson,Patrick J. Tchou,Cynthia M. Tracy,Clyde W. Yancy +15 more
TL;DR: This document summarizes current research, plans, and recommendations for future research, as well as providing a history of the field and some of the techniques used, currently in use, at the National Institutes of Health.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular properties that influence the oral bioavailability of drug candidates.
Daniel F. Veber,Stephen R. Johnson,Hung-Yuan Cheng,Brian R. Smith,Keith W. Ward,Kenneth D. Kopple +5 more
TL;DR: Reduced molecular flexibility, as measured by the number of rotatable bonds, and low polar surface area or total hydrogen bond count are found to be important predictors of good oral bioavailability, independent of molecular weight.
Journal ArticleDOI
Orexins and Orexin Receptors: A Family of Hypothalamic Neuropeptides and G Protein-Coupled Receptors that Regulate Feeding Behavior
Takeshi Sakurai,Akira Amemiya,Makoto Ishii,Ichiyo Matsuzaki,Richard M. Chemelli,Hirokazu Tanaka,S. Clay Williams,James A. Richardson,Gerald P. Kozlowski,Shelagh Wilson,Jonathan R.S. Arch,Robin E. TL;DR: Two novel neuropeptides are identified, both derived from the same precursor by proteolytic processing, that bind and activate two closely related (previously) orphan G protein-coupled receptors in the hypothalamus of rats.
Journal ArticleDOI
A global perspective on the use, sales, exposure pathways, occurrence, fate and effects of veterinary antibiotics (VAs) in the environment
TL;DR: This paper has attempted to summarize the latest information available in the literature on the use, sales, exposure pathways, environmental occurrence, fate and effects of veterinary antibiotics in animal agriculture.
