Interstratified layer structure of the organo-montmorillonites as revealed by electron microscopy

TL;DR: In this article, the lattice images of octadecylammonium-montmorillonite and trimethyl octadecylammonium:steramide-mononite were studied by electron microscopy, and the arrangement of the alkyl chains of the adsorbed organic compounds between the layers of montmorillonites were interpreted on the basis of interlayer distances obtained from lattice image.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tabular data of layer structure factors for clay minerals

TL;DR: In order to obtain either the complete diffraction diagram or the distribution of interlayer distances from the observed diffraction intensities in the calculation of X-ray diffraction effects of interstratified clay minerals, a knowledge is required of the structure factor of the layers as mentioned in this paper.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Removal of lead from aqueous solutions using Saudi activated bentonite.

TL;DR: In this article, the removal characteristics of lead ions from aqueous solution using Saudi activated bentonite were investigated under various operating variables such as shaking time, solution pH and initial metal concentration.
Book ChapterDOI

Role of Impurities

TL;DR: Coal is a composite material with organic and inorganic constituents; its structure can be viewed as consisting of hydroaromatic structures with aromaticity in-creasing from low-rank to high-rank coals as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and characterization of montmorillonite-(Ce or Zr) phosphate crosslinked compounds

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of montmorillonite-(Ce or Zr) phosphate crosslinked compounds has been synthesized by reaction of a cerium or zirconium cation exchanged with phosphoric acid under appropriate conditions of concentration, addition rate and temperature.
