Abstract: Es wurde das Verhalten quartarer Alkaloidsalze im Massenspektrometer untersucht. Dabei fanden sich drei prinzipiell verschiedene Verhaltensweisen: 1 Angriff des Anions an der N(b)-Methylgruppe unter Bildung des tertiaren Amins (Demethylierungsbase)und des Methylhalogenids. 2 Thermischer HOFMANN-Abbau unter Bildung eines ungesattigten Amins (HOFMANN-Base) und des Halogenwasserstoffs. 3 Angriff des Anions an einem der drei anderen N(b)-Substituenten unter Bildung eines tertiaren Amins und Eintritt des Halogenatoms in dieses (Substitution).

Abstract: Morpholine is a base of moderate strength, comparable with that of ammonia, and capable of forming -onium-type salts. Extensive studies [1,2] have been made on the thermal stability of ammonium perchlorate because of its technological use as an oxidant in solid state rocket propellants. The preparation, characterization and thermal behaviour of morpholinium perchlorate are reported in this note. The study was followed by XRD, IR, TG, DTA and mass spectral techniques.

Abstract: Perchlorates are powerful oxidizing agents [1] and are used as oxidants in explosives, pyrotechnics and solid state rocket propellants. Extensive studies have been made on the thermal stability of ammonium and related perchlorates due to their technological importance as oxidants [2,3]. This note reports the preparation, characterization and thermal behaviour of ethylenediammonium perchlorate. The study has been followed by XRD, IR, TG, DTA and MS techniques.

Abstract: As part of our programme on the thermal decomposition of antibiotics1, additional studies have been made to include the antibiotics, aureomycin (chlortetracycline), terramycin and tetracycline.
