Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: In this article, the negative enthalpies of mixing in (Ni x Mg 1−x )O and (Ni X Zn 1− x )O were modeled in terms of a tendency toward ordering in the solid solutions, the proposed ordering scheme finding support in spectroscopic, structural, and magnetic data.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the activity of NiO in NiO-MgO and NiOMnO solid solutions by equilibrating oxide samples with pure metallic Ni in atmospheres of known oxygen partial pressures.

TL;DR: In this article, the Gibbs free energies of formation of the silicates in the quasi-binaries: CoO and SiO 2, MgO and MgF 2, and SrO and SO 2 were determined with the help of solid-state galvanic cells in the temperature ranges 1273 to 1673 K, 1373 to 1573 K and 1323 to 1473 K. Stabilized ZrO 2 was used as an electrolyte for the CoO/SiO 2 system.
