TL;DR: In the title compound, Na3[Ni(C3H 2O4)2]Cl·6H2O, two crystallographically independent Ni atoms lie on centres of symmetry, each coordinated by four O atoms from two malonate ligands and by two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry.
Abstract: In the title compound, Na3[Ni(C3H2O4)2]Cl·6H2O, two crystallographically independent Ni atoms lie on centres of symmetry, each coordinated by four O atoms from two malonate ligands and by two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The Ni—O bond lengths are in the range 1.994 (18)–2.137 (2) A. The three Na+ ions are coordinated by seven O atoms, six O atoms, and five O and one Cl atom. The crystal packing is stabilized by the three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network formed by O—H⋯O and O—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

TL;DR: In this article, the bis-chelate fragment {M(R2mal)2} (M = Ni, Cu) composed of two dianions of an acid and a 3D metal atom is the structure-forming unit of these complexes.
Abstract: Heterometallic malonate complexes [Ag2Ni(H2O)2(R2mal)2]n (R2mal2– is the dimethylmalonate dianion (Me2mal2–) (1) or the cyclobutane-1,1-dicarboxylate dianion (Cbdc2–) (2)) and [Ag2Cu(H2O)(Me2mal)2]n (3) were synthesized. The bis-chelate fragment {M(R2mal)2} (M = Ni, Cu) composed of two dianions of an acid and a 3d metal atom is the structure-forming unit of these complexes. The mononuclear fragments are linked by silver(I) atoms, which are involved in argentophilic interactions, to form 2D coordination polymers.

TL;DR: In this paper, the Sm(III) ion is nine-coordinated by four O atoms from three different maleate ligands, two O atom from one fumarate ligand and three O atoms of three water mol-ecules.
Abstract: In the title coordination polymer, {[Sm(2)(C(4)H(2)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(6)]·6H(2)O}(n), the Sm(III) ion is nine-coordinated by four O atoms from three different maleate ligands, two O atoms from one fumarate ligand and three O atoms from three water mol-ecules. The fumarate ligand lies on an inversion center. Adjacent Sm(III) ions are bridged by the maleate and fumarate ligands, forming a layer parallel to (011). The layers are further linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.
