TLDR
In this paper, an "objective trust-based agent" (oTB-Agent) is proposed, which allows agents to make decisions about how to select o ther agents when a choice has to be made.Abstract:
In this paper we develop a notion of “objective trust” for Software Agents, that is trust of, or between, Agents base d on actual experiences between those Agents. Experiential objective trust allows Agents to make decisions about how to select o ther Agents when a choice has to be made. We define a mechanism for such an “objective Trust-Based Agent” (oTB-Agent), and present experimental results in a simulated trading environment based on an Intelligent Networks (IN) scenario. The trust one Agent places in another is dynamic, updated on the basis of each experience. We use this to investigate three questions relate d to trust in Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), first how trust affec ts the formation of trading partnerships, second, whether trust developed over a period can equate to “loyalty” and third whether a less than scrupulous Agent can exploit the individual nature of trust to its advantage.read more

Continuous requirements management for organisation networks: a (dis)trust-based approach
TL;DR: This work captures relationships in the so-called TCD (Trust–Confidence–Distrust) approach and demonstrates how this approach can be supported by a dynamic requirements engineering environment that combines the structural analysis of strategic dependencies and rationales, with the interaction between planning, tracing, and communicative action.

Agent mediated retailing in the connected local community
TL;DR: Issues of loyalty, trust, reputation and preference are developed and discussed, four issues critical to the development and maintenance of the relationships between individual people, their personal software agents, businesses and the larger e-retail connected community.

Why trust is hard – challenges in e-mediated services
TL;DR: This work proposes a framework supporting a principled life cycle of e-services and includes comparisons with other relevant approaches from trust in e-commerce and trust in agents.
Designing and Maintaining Trustworthy Online Services
TL;DR: A trust framework in the context of online services is introduced, specifying a number of concepts that enhances and clarifies how trust can be addressed, and a tool for online service designers is presented, the trust management life cycle.

The Evolution of Cooperation
TL;DR: In this paper, a model based on the concept of an evolutionarily stable strategy in the context of the Prisoner's Dilemma game was developed for cooperation in organisms, and the results of a computer tournament showed how cooperation based on reciprocity can get started in an asocial world, can thrive while interacting with a wide range of other strategies, and can resist invasion once fully established.
