Variables Sampling under Measurement Error

29 Sep 2014-
TL;DR: In this article, single sampling plans for inspection by variables in the case of measurement error are presented that fulfill given requirements on their operating characteristic function, and three cases are considered: (a) measurement standard deviation and process standard deviation known and each sampled item measured once, and (b) measurement normalization and process normalization unknown and each sample item measured more than once.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of measurement error on the operating characteristics of one-sided (normal distribution) variables sampling plans is discussed and a table showing the effect on operating characteristic curves for the proportion nonconforming is given.

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence from measurement uncertainty in case of acceptance sampling by variables has been discussed and two kinds of measurement uncertainty are considered: pure random noise changing from one item to the other and constant error on all items in a lot, but where the error varies from lot to lot.
Abstract: The paper discusses the influence from measurement uncertainty in case of acceptance sampling by variables Two kinds of measurement uncertainty are considered in this paper, one is the pure random noise changing from one item to the other The other type of measurement error considered is a constant error on all items in a lot, but where the error varies from lot to lot The largest deterioration on the operating characteristics is seen from the low frequency measurement error type

How to know that the measurement of variables carried out is a good measurement?

To determine if variable measurements are good, consider measurement and process standard deviations. Single sampling plans can assess measurement quality under known or unknown standard deviations.
