In this paper, the effects of different parameters on the vibration and harmonic behaviour of cross-ply composite plates with anti-symmetric lamination scheme of layers were discussed and the frequency-amplitude relationships were obtained and presented on frequency response function graph.
Abstract
This work presents vibration and harmonic behaviour of cross-ply composite plates with anti-symmetric lamination scheme of layers. Convergence test and comparison studies for different parameters with respect to number of modes have been carried out using the finite element method. The finite element package ANSYS is used to determine the frequency parameter and resonance amplitude of the plate. The effects of different parameters on the vibration and harmonic behaviour, are discussed. The frequency-amplitude relationships are obtained and presented on frequency response function graph. The clamped, simply supported, free and the combinations of boundary conditions are considered. Effects of damping factor on harmonic response are also investigated.

Free vibration analyses of thin sector plates by the new version of differential quadrature method

TL;DR: In this paper, the free vibration of thin sector plates with various sector angles and six combinations of boundary conditions is analyzed using differential quadrature (DQ) method, and convergence can be achieved with increasing in number of grid points.

Static and stability analyses of arbitrary straight-sided quadrilateral thin plates by DQM

TL;DR: In this article, a four-noded super element is used to map the irregular physical domain into a square computational domain and second order transformation schemes with relative ease and low computational effort are employed to transform the fourth order governing equations of thin plates between the domains.

Free vibration of composite plates with mixed boundary conditions based on higher-order shear deformation theory

TL;DR: In this article, a global higher-order shear deformation theory is devised to obtain the governing equations of composite plates under dynamic excitation, which leads to an eigenvalue problem for the natural frequencies of plates.
