This implies that the membrane architecture can potentially be used as a microfluidic platform with lipid bilayers that can sustain external mechanical stress for biophysical studies of membrane proteins.
It is concluded that KC-400 produces a nonspecific increase in mitochondrial ion permeability, thereby dissipating membrane potential, which leads to the uncoupling.
In addition, this composite membrane can be readily integrated into the currently used membrane system.

Importantly, in vivo evidence demonstrates the involvement of the proton-transporting uncoupling protein, a mitochondrial potassium channel, the outer membrane located porin and the permeability transition pore in tumor progression/control.
Uncoupling cannot be explained by increased membrane permeability, but is associated with decreased capacity of the Ca2+-ATPase to bind noncatalytic, tightly bound ATP and ADP (Berman, M. C. (1982) Biochim.
The combination of membrane with the porous structure avoids the use of costly freestanding IEM.
It is expected that this membrane can be applied for selective recovery of Li(I) from salt lakes or sea water that contains significant concentrations of Na(I) and K(I).
So, it seems that this membrane is suitable to use for wastewater treatment.
This membrane can be used for crossflow microfiltration.
The obtained results are very promising for future applications, since the presented technique can be applied in ready-to-use membrane modules and capillary membranes easily.
