AN IDEAL stethoscope should be able to deliver to the ears, without important loss or distortion, all audible physiological phenomena.
It shows that it is possible to design a new electronic stethoscope by considering the advantages of both the acoustic and electronic stethoscopes.
As an alternative, this study examines a prototype electronic stethoscope that does not break the isolation barrier between clinician and patient and may also improve the diagnostic accuracy of the stethoscope exam.
This kind of stethoscope could be used in noisy or bumpy circumstances.
As is the case with the stethoscope, students may not initially appreciate all the finer details on ultrasound; however, continual use would improve skill.
