The behavior of the test cases confirms the applicability of the proposed concept for adapting the tradeoff between area coverage and energy usage of a self-reconfigurable floor cleaning robot based on user preference.
Both parameters are robot dependent and can be estimated if the area of the room is known and then floor-cleaning coverage can be predicted and over-cleaning minimized.
This paper proposes an innovative approach for floor-cleaning robot.
In this paper, we firstly propose a novel method to mop the floor by using a sponge, and use this method to design a mopping module in the frame work of a multifunction floor cleaning robot.
According to our real-world robot experiments in different environments, it appears that most modern buildings have sufficient magnetic field variation to make the method applicable in mobile robot floor-cleaning tasks.
According to the statistical conclusions, the proposed hTetro-Infi is capable of significantly improving area coverage compared to an existing tiling-theory based floor cleaning robot.

How does the nostalgia associated with vintage luxury goods influence consumer behavior and decision-making?
4 answers
The nostalgia associated with vintage luxury goods significantly influences consumer behavior and decision-making by leveraging emotional connections to the past, which in turn affects purchase intentions, loyalty, and consumer preferences. Studies have shown that nostalgia marketing, when applied to vintage luxury goods, can positively impact consumer attitudes towards these products, enhancing their purchase intention and loyalty due to the emotional resonance of nostalgia with consumers' personal characteristics and product characteristics. This emotional appeal of nostalgia, as a marketing lever, offers tangible benefits to marketers by potentially affecting consumer behavior in favor of vintage luxury goods. The mechanisms through which nostalgia influences consumer behavior include feelings of social connectedness and self-fulfillment. Nostalgia marketing can increase consumer preference for products that embody certain visual designs, such as circular shapes, by invoking social connectedness, which is particularly effective among consumers with fewer current social connections. Moreover, the experience of engaging with luxury vintage fashion (LVF) products, even without purchasing, can lead to consumers' self-fulfillment and self-accomplishment, highlighting the value consumers gain through their interaction with these products. Furthermore, nostalgia's role in consumer behavior extends to its ability to buffer the self from threats and influence consumption-relevant outcomes, such as advertising effectiveness and product choice, through its connection to social identity and collective memory. The heritage dimension of luxury brands, incorporating nostalgia, plays a crucial role in motivating consumers across different age groups, with motivations varying from monetary appreciation to the inheritance value of the products. Additionally, brand identification, both cognitive and emotional, is a significant mediator in the relationship between nostalgia and purchase intention, suggesting that nostalgia can effectively bridge generational gaps and enhance consumer engagement with vintage luxury brands. In summary, nostalgia associated with vintage luxury goods profoundly influences consumer behavior and decision-making by fostering emotional connections, enhancing social connectedness, and fulfilling personal achievements, thereby driving purchase intentions and loyalty towards these products.
How does media reinforce sterotypes?
4 answers
Media reinforces stereotypes through the portrayal of social groups in a stereotypical manner, influencing public opinion. Audience selectivity plays a crucial role, as individuals tend to gravitate towards content that aligns with their existing prejudices, while avoiding counter-stereotypical information. Gender stereotypes are prevalent in media, often following traditional roles and lacking diversity, impacting how audiences perceive gender roles and imitate them as role models. Furthermore, racial and ethnic stereotypes in media have evolved over time, affecting audiences' attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors, with negative stereotypes shaping perceptions, judgments, and even public policy opinions. Counteracting media stereotypes involves strategies like promoting counter-stereotypic portrayals, encouraging positive role models, enhancing media literacy, and fostering racially inclusive media spaces.
What is ros2?
5 answers
ROS2, or Robot Operating System 2, is a scalable software architecture that leverages the Data Distribution Service (DDS) protocol for real-time operation, security, and performance enhancements. It addresses the lack of task management capabilities in ROS2, crucial for applications with multiple threads and processes, and simplifies the integration of new devices by providing a user-friendly programming interface. Additionally, ROS2 serves as a universal interface between external devices and simulators, enhancing portability and reusability of devices while expanding the simulator's capabilities. Furthermore, ROS2-based systems ensure Quality of Service (QoS) for latency-critical applications like remote surgery and driving by managing data flow scheduling and WiFi configurations.
What is the impact of personality on learning styles?
5 answers
Personality plays a significant role in shaping learning styles and behaviors. For instance, individuals with different personality traits tend to exhibit varying learning strategies and preferences. Studies have shown that learners with high extraversion levels are more likely to be extrinsically motivated and navigate between course modules and personal achievements. Additionally, the Big Five personality traits have been linked to specific learning styles, with traits like extraversion, conscientiousness, and negative emotionality influencing learning preferences such as Activist, Reflector, Theorist, and Pragmatist. Understanding these connections can aid in providing personalized support in education, enhancing learning experiences, and improving academic achievement.
How do pull and push factors affect the participation in sport events?
5 answers
Pull and push factors play a significant role in influencing participation in sport events. Research by Mouratidis and Doumirevealed that push motivations primarily impact satisfaction with the organization of sport events, while pull motivations lead to higher destination satisfaction. On the other hand, findings from Zhang and Byonindicated that push factors like self-esteem and drama excitement positively influence event consumption for online audiences, while pull factors were not significantly related to consumption for on-site attendants. Additionally, Yamaguchi et al.highlighted that participants from different regions may perceive marathon events differently, with local participants viewing it as a personal challenge and non-local participants engaging in event tourism. Understanding these push and pull factors is crucial for event organizers and destination managers to tailor strategies that cater to the diverse motivations of sport event participants.
Have AI walls been tested to detect vulnerabilities?
5 answers
AI has been utilized in testing walls for vulnerabilities. One approach involves combining AI with hammering testing to efficiently detect concrete wall flaking. Additionally, AI-based systems have been developed for detecting vulnerabilities in software applications. A two-stage solution using deep learning models like CNN and CNN-LTSM achieved high accuracy in detecting vulnerabilities in C/C++ source codes. Moreover, Machine Learning (ML) methods have been proposed to detect vulnerabilities in C/C++ applications, with Explainable AI (XAI) aiding in identifying vulnerable source code tokens and understanding their causes. The model achieved high F1-Scores in binary and multi-class vulnerability detection tasks, with Random Forest (RF) and Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGB) performing well as classifiers.
