Thus, while the attenuation of fan tones remains paramount, the ability to simultaneously reduce broadband fan noise levels has become more appealing.
Such correlations may contribute to redesign guidelines for simultaneous reduction of noise and improvement of efficiency at prescribed fan performance.
The data presented indicates that this turbulence is the dominant source of noise above 1.5 kHz for the fan tested.
In this paper, an improved algorithm for active control of fan noise is proposed.
The results indicate the limits of maximum noise reduction which manufacturers may expect using existing fan designs and also indicates the methods for achieving maximum noise reduction for these configurations.
