Rather than ask how we can measure sustainability, it may be more appropriate to ask how we measure up to sustainability.
The research that allowed recognizing the importance of sustainable development implementation methods and tools has shown that certification and culture of sustainable development could help implementing sustainable development ideology in the organization.
Our findings consequently would depend on, at first, how we measure economic growth in short and long terms, the second, how we measure energy security, and, the third, how we benchmark progress towards sustainable development.
The variability in findings draws attention to the lack of a clear direction at the global level in how best to approach sustainable development.
