Whether in friendship and dating relationships or professional and work relationships, social media use shapes and is shaped by how individuals see their relationships, who they have relationships with, and how those relationships are formed, maintained, and ended.
Inertia negatively moderates the impacts of social identity on social media use, but not the relationships between relational identity and social media use.
Together, these studies contribute to our evolving understanding of ephemeral social media and their role in social relationships.
The results show how the respondents saw God as a target for their proximity-seeking behaviors, albeit conflicted in their relationship experience.
Going forward, it is likely that social media will have an expanding role in care, with social media offering new pathways to address negative symptoms and impairments in social cognition in schizophrenia.
