This paper suggests a chirp signal and describes its advantages over other signals.
Therefore, the FRFT presents a potentially effective technique for detection of chirp signals.
Alarm algorithms utilizing ionization detector smoke measurements proved to be more effective than measurements from photoelectric detectors.
Our experiment permits to isolate different kinds of noises affecting the chirp.
It is shown that such a smoke detector is able to operate reliably under low concentration of smoke and high relative humidity conditions.
Results show good performance for chirp tracking even under strong noise corruption.

The data showed that there was a large amount of variability in the measured smoke optical density values outside a detector at the time of alarm.
It is, therefore, recommended that smoke detector alarms be installed in the bedrooms themselves such that the signal intensity is at the maximum level tolerable to the human ear, that is approximately 90 dBA.
However, the learning of smoke representation in the detectors will be restricted by the appearance gap between real and synthetic smoke samples, which will cause a significant performance drop.
