How to do leakage testing?5 answersLeakage testing can be done using various methods. One method involves loading the component to be tested into a vacuum chamber, securing it with tooling, and setting valves to provide access to vacuum systems or tracer gas. Another method involves using a leakage testing device with a pressurizing cylinder and a pressure receiving cylinder connected in series, allowing for axial movement and precise measurement of leakage. A leakage testing system for multi-cavity products uses a manual pressure adjusting valve, airtightness leakage testing gauge, and solenoid valves to conduct grouped tests on multiple cavities, improving efficiency and reducing testing time. Another device with adjustable height uses a base plate, lift section of thick bamboo, pressure spring, and bleeding pressure poles to test objects of different specifications. Additionally, a method involves using a test space, volume control device, and sensor to detect changes in gas pressure and temperature, allowing for quick and accurate detection of leakage.
What are the different types of pipeline leakage detection techniques?1 answersDifferent types of pipeline leakage detection techniques have been proposed in the literature. One approach is the use of acoustic emission (AE) technology, which involves extracting statistical measures from the AE signal as features and training machine learning models to detect leaks and pinhole-sized leaks. Another technique is the application of deep learning (DL), where a parameter-optimized recurrent attention network (PRAN) is used to improve the accuracy of pipeline leakage detection. PRAN combines a parameter-optimized long short-term memory (LSTM) network with an anomaly-attention mechanism (AM) to enhance the learning representation capability of the model and amplify the normal-abnormal discrepancy. Additionally, a pipeline climbing robot has been designed to detect gas leakage in pipelines. The robot moves automatically when it senses gas leakage and produces a buzzer sound to alert the user. Other methods include hardware-based and software-based detection techniques, which have different working principles, advantages, and disadvantages. Finally, an improved uniform-phase local characteristic-scale decomposition (IUPLCD) combined with a grid search algorithm-optimized twin-bounded support vector machine (GS-TBSVM) has been proposed for gas pipeline leakage detection. IUPLCD filters noise in the signal, while GS-TBSVM accurately judges the working conditions of the gas pipeline.

What pre-trained cnn models can be used for optimal defect classification in sewage pipes?
5 answers
Pre-trained CNN models that can be used for optimal defect classification in sewage pipes include YOLO with 11 pretrained backbone CNNs, Resnet18, Inceptionresnetv2, and RegNet+. TL-based YOLO methods generally outperformed other object detection methods (ODMs) in terms of detection precision, computation speed, and intersection over union (IoU). Among the CNNs, Resnet18 achieved the best performance, while Inceptionresnetv2 was the least effective. Does long short term memory (LSTM) have issues with computational demands?
5 answers
Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks do have issues with computational demands. The complex neurons and internal states of LSTM networks make them ideal for time series applications, but their heterogeneous operations and computational resource requirements create a gap when it comes to fast processing time on low-power, low-cost edge devices. Traditional LSTM requires a large memory bandwidth for each sequence time step, which limits its ability to process continuous input streams efficiently. Prior works have proposed compression techniques to alleviate the storage/computation requirements of LSTMs, but elementwise sparsity schemes incur sizable index memory overhead and structured compression techniques report limited compression ratios. To address these issues, novel hardware architectures and memory compression techniques have been proposed to improve the efficiency of LSTM networks.

How dodecane can be purify?
4 answers
Dodecane can be purified by adding a small amount of acid to the raw material and subjecting it to acidification reaction to remove impurities. The impurities are then removed through filter pressing, deacidification, water addition, sedimentation, layering, and overflow hydraulic stage treatment. Additionally, the PVT properties of crosslinked polystyrene samples containing dodecane were measured, and the Tait equation was used to describe the PVT behavior of the system. The glass transition temperature was determined, and the addition of dodecane resulted in a decrease in the difference between the expansion coefficients in the glassy and rubbery regions.

What are the possible causes of joint cracking and popping?
5 answers
Joint cracking and popping can be caused by various factors. One possible cause is the cavitation and subsequent bubble collapse in the synovial fluid of the joint. Another cause can be welding defects, such as cracks formed during the welding process or after its completion. Improper welding process or operation during boiler installation, as well as improper post weld heat treatment, can also lead to weld cracking in high temperature superheater inlet tees. In the case of welded joints in high-strength steels, low temperature of weld solidification and deformation-induced contraction are shown to be the cause of cracking. Additionally, direct evidence from real-time magnetic resonance imaging suggests that joint cracking is related to cavity formation rather than bubble collapse, with tribonucleation being a possible mechanism.
