This paper initially demonstrates that when an active noise control system is used in a practical mobile phone configuration to minimise the noise measured by an error microphone mounted on the mobile phone, the attenuation achieved at the user's ear depends strongly on the position of the source generating the acoustic interference.
Experimental results demonstrate that this proposed algorithm yields the much higher speech quality than the state-of-the-art noise-reduction algorithms, and more importantly involves much less computational cost which makes it feasible for mobile phone.
