This method has the advantage that it does not involve any additional step in a blood count, as the red cells are counted at the same time as the platelets.
These studies demonstrate a reliable, noninvasive diagnostic assay for measurement of reticulated platelets in whole blood and provide a baseline for assessment of the clinical utility of the assay.
These characteristics explain the difficulties that have been experienced in attempts to count accurately the number of platelets.

These studies have suggested the desirability of a method for obtaining large numbers of functionally intact platelets from normal blood.
It is proposed that studies of this type should be extended to a wide assessment of platelet count accuracy of blood bank instruments in order to standardise data within national organisations.
Adhesivity and aggregability of blood platelets may reflect normal and diseased states.

How does agreeableness affect risk absorption capacity in investment decision making? positively or negatively?
5 answers
Agreeableness, as a personality trait, has a nuanced impact on risk absorption capacity in investment decision-making, which can be understood through the lens of its influence on financial behaviors, risk perception, and cognitive processes. Agreeableness is associated with a tendency towards self-transcendence, contentment, and placing less importance on material gains, which could lead to a lower emphasis on achieving high financial returns and potentially a lower risk absorption capacity. This trait's inclination towards social integration and norm orientation suggests that agreeable individuals might prefer investments that are perceived as socially responsible or endorsed by their social circles, even if these options come with lower risk and potentially lower returns. However, the relationship between agreeableness and risk absorption is not solely negative. Agreeableness also fosters relational investment and teamwork, traits that can be beneficial in the context of investment decision-making where collaboration and advice from trusted financial advisors or peer networks can lead to more informed and potentially risk-averse decisions. This suggests that while agreeableness might directly lead to a preference for lower-risk investments, it can also indirectly support better risk management through social resources and advice. The broader literature on investment behaviors provides additional insights. For instance, risk tolerance and perception significantly influence investment decisions, with agreeable individuals potentially exhibiting higher risk perception due to their value system, which could further explain their cautious approach to investments. Moreover, the cognitive dimensions of investment, such as financial literacy and experience, play a crucial role in shaping investment decisions and risk tolerance, indicating that the impact of agreeableness on risk absorption might also be mediated by these factors. In summary, agreeableness affects risk absorption capacity in investment decision-making both positively and negatively. While it may lead to a preference for lower-risk investments due to a lesser emphasis on material gains and higher risk perception, it also supports risk management through enhanced relational investment and the utilization of social resources.
Diabetic foot amputation ?
5 answers
Diabetic foot amputation is a serious consequence of diabetes, with various risk factors identified across multiple studies. Factors significantly associated with amputation include Wagner grading, abnormal peripheral arteries, hypertension, high thrombocyte levels, low haematocrit levels, hypercholesterolaemia, male sex. Additionally, the presence of multiple risk factors like sepsis, poor glycemic control, ischemia, neuropathy, and osteomyelitis increases the likelihood of amputation. Specific risk factors for lower limb amputation in diabetic foot patients include male gender, larger ulcer size, higher Wagner classification grades, peripheral arterial disease, osteomyelitis, and increased fibrinogen levels. Furthermore, factors such as HbA1c levels, ankle brachial index, toe-brachial index, Wagner classification, and peripheral arterial disease significantly influence minor amputations in diabetic foot patients. Early detection, proper management, and preventive measures are crucial in reducing the risk of amputations in diabetic foot patients.
What is the influence of Pathogenic family structure on delinquents behaviors?
5 answers
Pathogenic family structures, such as conflictual, hyperauthoritarian, or hyperpermissive families, significantly impact delinquent behaviors in adolescents. Research indicates that family environments with deficiencies like infidelity, abandonment, and excessive severity contribute to juvenile delinquency. Studies show that adolescents in non-intact families exhibit more deviant behaviors and depression, with parental monitoring and school connectedness playing crucial roles in mediating these effects. Additionally, the findings suggest that family dynamics have a significant influence on delinquent behaviors, emphasizing the importance of considering family structure when assessing adolescents' developmental behaviors. Therefore, addressing issues within pathogenic family structures is essential in curbing delinquent behaviors among adolescents.
In what ways do education policies in Germany contribute to the integration of refugee students into German society?
5 answers
Education policies in Germany significantly impact the integration of refugee students into German society. Regional educational policies influence various aspects of refugee students' educational participation, such as the duration until school enrollment, type of class attended, type of school, and appropriateness of age placement. These policies create path dependencies for further education and career paths of refugee students due to the low permeability of the German education system. Moreover, spatial characteristics, such as economic productivity and unemployment rates in districts, play a crucial role in determining young refugees' transition chances to vocational education and training (VET). By understanding and reforming these policies, Germany can enhance the social and professional integration of refugee students, ultimately fostering their successful adjustment and contribution to society.
What is haptic feedback?
5 answers
Haptic feedback refers to the tactile sensation or force feedback provided to users in various applications such as surgical robotics, assistive technologies for the visually impaired, virtual reality (VR), and virtual experiences. In surgical robotics, haptic feedback enhances the surgeon's sensory awareness and motor accuracy. For the visually impaired, vibration patterns are used to convey information effectively. In VR, haptic feedback is crucial for creating immersive experiences, and new methods like Weirding Haptics allow users to design tactile experiences using their voice. Additionally, haptic feedback can be achieved through Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) in lightweight wearable systems, enhancing virtual reality experiences by simulating interactions with objects. Haptic Servos provide self-contained haptic rendering devices for creating various tactile experiences with low latency.
How have advancements in technology impacted the development of pressure vessel structure health monitoring techniques?
4 answers
Advancements in technology have significantly influenced the development of pressure vessel structural health monitoring techniques. What is family resilience scale?
5 answers
The Family Resilience Scale (FRS) is a validated tool used to assess the resilience of families facing adversities. It measures various aspects such as family communication, connectedness, positive framing, external support, family belief system, organization, communication, problem-solving, and utilization of external resources. The scale has been developed and validated in different cultural contexts, including Chinese communities, the US, and other populations. The FRS typically consists of multiple items that are assessed for relevance, clarity, and representativeness before being finalized into a concise scale. The scale's reliability and validity have been confirmed through psychometric testing, including confirmatory factor analysis, convergent validity assessments, and measurement invariance tests among different family members. The FRS serves as a valuable instrument for evaluating and understanding family resilience in the face of challenges.

What are the variables related to the social interaction scale?
4 answers
The variables related to the social interaction scale include attention, talkativeness, and warmness, which are constructed as measurements of social interaction in the asset pricing model of the stock market. Additionally, the Social Interaction Anxiety Scale (SIAS) and the Social Phobia Scale (SPS) measure anxiety in social interaction and performance situations, with factors like factor structure, ability to distinguish between clinical and non-clinical populations, sensitivity to change following therapy, and convergent validity with related measures being crucial. The SIAS and SPS have been compared to other scales measuring social anxiety, showing strong correlations and sensitivity to treatment change, although they do not differentiate between social phobia and other anxiety disorders. These variables play a significant role in assessing social interaction and anxiety levels in various contexts.
