We also propose to have a reset time slightly earlier than the instants of input zero-crossing in the usual reset control to solve the impulsive effect in the control signal that leads to control signal saturation.
While lifestyle behaviours were not found to be a good predictor of turn signal use among car drivers, they were found to indirectly affect turn signal use among motorcycle riders through the mediation of beliefs and perceived risk.
Although direct comparison of the filtered turn rate signal with a predetermined threshold is possible, the paper shows that better detection performance can be achieved by processing the turn rate signal with a filter matched to the rail switch curvature parameters.
A fast reset, indeed, is a key parameter to maximize the measurement speed.
The reset function in advanced alarm system therefore should be very flexible.
We conducted a pilot study which revealed that people do not always interpret this signal as one may expect, which would be similar to how a car uses its turn signal.
The turn-signal onset rule will likely be effective for drivers who use their turn signals but is not free of nuisance alarm problems.
When such a reset input is not available, a synchronizing sequence can be used as a compound reset input, which makes the proposed method applicable to a wide range of systems.
