What Issues Stemming in Education from Technological Scarcity?
5 answers
Issues in education stemming from technological scarcity include a shortage of technology education teachers, hindering the integration of STEM studies. Additionally, limited access to computer facilities can impact academic performance, as seen among first-year accounting students. Furthermore, the lack of resources in schools can lead to declining enrollment in technology-related subjects, affecting students' attitudes and performance in design and technology courses. It is crucial to address these issues by prioritizing the production of technology education teachers, ensuring adequate access to computer facilities, and providing necessary resources to enhance students' learning experiences and outcomes.
What Factors that contribute to technological scarcity in education in developing cities in the Philippines?
5 answers
Technological scarcity in education in developing cities in the Philippines is influenced by various factors. These include limited Internet access for the poorest sectors of society, insufficient hardware diffusion in schools, a curriculum that primarily focuses on computer literacy rather than subject support through technology, and teachers lacking the necessary preparation and confidence to utilize technology effectively. Additionally, barriers such as the lack of training resources, high costs, inadequate available technologies, skills gap of human resources, knowledge gap, and the complexity of learning platforms hinder the implementation of advanced technologies like Education 4.0 (EDUC4) in Philippine universities. These factors collectively contribute to the technological scarcity in educational settings in developing cities in the Philippines.
How does the presence of carboxylmethyl chitosan influence the crystal growth of calcium phosphate?
5 answers
The presence of chitosan, specifically carboxylmethyl chitosan, significantly impacts the crystal growth of calcium phosphate. Studies have shown that the addition of chitosan during the deposition process alters the physico-chemical properties of the resulting composite layers, affecting crystal structure and adherence strength. Furthermore, the introduction of chitosan in calcium phosphate cement accelerates the hardening process, reducing the amount of unreacted monomers within the cement. Chitosan-coated calcium phosphate films have demonstrated the ability to induce the growth and nucleation of porous calcium phosphate coatings, mimicking natural tissue formation, and exhibiting antimicrobial properties. Additionally, chitosan incorporation in calcium phosphate membranes enhances the binding force between the membrane and the metal substrate, modifying the surface morphology and composition of the membranes.
How does water pollution affect air quality?
5 answers
Water pollution can have a significant impact on air quality. Contaminants from urban environments, such as industrial and municipal wastewaters, can lead to the release of volatile organic compounds, greenhouse gases, heavy metals, and other pollutants into the atmosphere. Additionally, activities like spraying water on roads to mitigate air pollution can paradoxically increase PM2.5 concentration and humidity, contributing to air pollution. Furthermore, the competition for water resources due to rapid urbanization can lead to increased water pollution, which in turn affects air quality. Monitoring water quality parameters is crucial for assessing hydrological status and its interaction with air pollution, highlighting the importance of optimizing water quality control to maintain overall environmental health.
Can chitosan control the crystal structure of calcium phosphate?
5 answers
Chitosan can indeed influence the crystal structure of calcium phosphate. Research indicates that chitosan incorporation into calcium phosphate layers can lead to changes in the physico-chemical properties and adherence strength of the composite layers. Moreover, chitosan-coated calcium phosphate films have shown the formation of porous calcium phosphate coatings with oriented crystals, indicating a controlled crystal growth process. Additionally, the bioinspired synthesis of calcium phosphate materials using chitosan and an organic matrix has demonstrated the ability to guide the mineralization process, resulting in hierarchically ordered structures with specific crystal arrangements. Furthermore, chitosan self-assembled nanostructures have been utilized as templates for biomineralization of calcium carbonate, showcasing the potential for chitosan to influence the morphology and structure of biominerals.
Does the molecular weight of chitosan influence the heterogeneous nucleation of calcium phosphate crystals?
5 answers
The molecular weight of chitosan does influence the heterogeneous nucleation of calcium phosphate crystals. Higher molecular weight chitosan tends to present a lower energy barrier to nucleation, favoring the formation of substrate-crystal interfaces and reducing interactions with water, as observed in the study by Giuffre et al.. On the other hand, the addition of chitosan to calcium phosphate layers can disturb the crystalline structure of the calcium phosphate layers, impacting the adherence strength of the composite layers to the substrates, as shown by Zarif et al.. Furthermore, the presence of chitosan accelerates the hardening dynamics of calcium phosphate cement, reducing the amount of unreacted monomers within the cement, as demonstrated by Lacan et al.. These findings collectively suggest that the molecular weight of chitosan plays a significant role in influencing the heterogeneous nucleation of calcium phosphate crystals.
