Even modest progress toward a clearer understanding of what one means by ‘Russia’s reaction to globalization’ helps to create a fuller picture of Russian foreign policy, and, in the process, may even shed light on the effects of globalization in an important concrete instance.
As a former Second World nation or a semiperipheral country, Russia may tell us something important about globalization in general and global roles played by core and periphery.
The paper argues that globalization is still underdeveloped in Russia, which is a big problem for the country as a whole: if Russia is unable to integrate with the world and the “islands of globalization” are overrun by the “ocean”, this would keep the country isolated and underdeveloped for many decades to come.

What are the effects of technology and globalization on inequality in the Russian Federation?4 answersThe effects of technology and globalization on inequality in the Russian Federation have been examined in multiple studies. It has been found that globalization, along with technological change, plays a significant role in income inequality. Globalization has led to a rise in wealth and income differentiation, curtailed social guarantees, and exacerbated structural biases in the economy. However, it has also provided new opportunities for development and individual success, particularly for workers with access to the international labor market. Technological change, on the other hand, has the potential to increase regional disparities, especially in large developing countries like Russia. While there has been a rapid spread of information and communication technologies in Russian regions, the growth rates in research and development indicators have been low, leading to a divide between leading and lagging regions. Overall, the impact of technology and globalization on inequality in the Russian Federation is complex, with both positive and negative effects.
How Russia has proceeded in the digitalization?5 answersRussia has proceeded in the digitalization by actively integrating digital technologies into various sectors of public life, including higher education, e-government, information society, and the fuel and energy complex. The government has developed a national program called "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation" to accelerate the introduction of digital technologies in the economy and social sphere. The digitalization process has affected all aspects of the educational process, leading to the transformation of traditional higher education through the integration of digital teaching methods, the development of distance education programs, and the establishment of a digital educational environment. Different regions of Russia have varying levels of digital development, with some regions implementing best practices and expanding the use of IT technologies, while others fulfill federal requirements without additional financing for IT developments. The digital transformation of the fuel and energy complex is ongoing, with digitalization becoming synonymous with enterprise competitiveness. The development of the digital economy is a national priority for Russia, and efforts are being made to catch up with global leaders in digital technology adoption.
What are global impact of russia-ukraine war?1 answersThe Russia-Ukraine war has global impacts on various aspects. The conflict has the potential to affect the global food supply, particularly in regions like Africa and the Middle East that heavily rely on food imports from Russia and Ukraine. The war has led to a reduction in trade between the two countries, impacting the supply of energy, oil, raw supplies, and components, and increasing hesitancy among Western consumers. Additionally, the war has the potential to exacerbate food insecurity worldwide, with higher food prices becoming a problem for low-income populations that spend a significant portion of their income on cereals. The closure of ports and suspension of fertilizer exports have further impacted trade partners and affected countries experiencing food insecurity, such as Afghanistan, Yemen, and Ethiopia. The conflict has also had geopolitical and regional implications, leading to changes in foreign and defense policies of countries like North Korea.
