In particular, we show that peer lifetime estimation can be used to reduce the maintenance cost of peer-to-peer backup.
How to route both primary and backup channels for each dependable real-time connection is of vital importance to the success of failure recovery and to overhead reduction in providing DoS.
These backup routes can be rapidly found in situations involving disconnection or loss of connection.
In this paper we show that is possible to further reduce the capacity requirements of backup reprovisioning techniques exploiting the knowledge, among the other service level specifications (SLS), of the connection holding-time.

What can impact obesity negatively in Australia?
4 answers
Obesity in Australia can be negatively impacted by various factors. These include poor food choices, low physical activity, family eating habits, weight stigma perpetuated by the media, healthcare practitioners, and public health campaigns, and barriers to engagement in obesity prevention services among culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Additionally, the prevalence of morbid obesity and multiple long-term conditions (MLTCs) have been found to be negatively associated with health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in Australia. These factors collectively contribute to the rising rates of obesity in Australia, highlighting the need for comprehensive strategies that address societal, cultural, and individual aspects to combat this public health issue effectively.
How does the implementation of AI technologies impact the overall effectiveness of battery management in microgrids?
5 answers
The implementation of AI technologies significantly enhances battery management in microgrids by improving operational efficiency and reducing costs. AI algorithms, such as fuzzy logic and artificial neural networks, optimize energy management systems by predicting variables, determining charge/discharge instants for battery energy storage systems (BESSs), and minimizing electricity consumption. AI-based energy management systems enable microgrids to effectively handle the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources, ensuring sustainable and reliable power supply. By utilizing AI techniques like machine learning and reinforcement learning, microgrids can achieve greater performance efficiency, reliability, and scalability in managing energy resources. The incorporation of AI in battery management within microgrids not only enhances grid decentralization but also paves the way for more efficient and sustainable electrical systems.
What is the correlation between heatwaves and climate change?
5 answers
Heatwaves and climate change are intricately linked, with research showing varying impacts. Studies suggest that heatwaves have intensified and become more frequent due to global temperature rise, a trend expected to continue. While heatwaves can have minor effects on agricultural productivity, their impact is moderated by average temperature. Furthermore, the correlation between heatwaves and climate change is complex, with factors like changes in blocking patterns, heatwave–blocking relationships, and mean temperature increases influencing heatwave frequency under global warming. The collision between the COVID-19 pandemic and heatwaves in 2022 highlights the urgent need for coordinated management plans to address the simultaneous occurrence of extreme climate events and infectious diseases, emphasizing the threat climate change poses to human health.
How does robotic service experience affect consumer delight?
5 answers
Robotic service experiences can significantly impact consumer delight. Research suggests that consumers tend to have more negative evaluations when interacting with service bots compared to humans, attributing automation to cost-cutting motives rather than customer benefits. However, making humanoid robots more 'like us' by embracing imperfections like clumsiness can improve consumer-robot interactions, reducing eerie responses and increasing trust in robots. Additionally, the appearance of human-like service robots can enhance customer comfort by facilitating rapport building, ultimately leading to more comfortable interactions and enjoyable experiences. Furthermore, customer emotions triggered by robot encounters are predominantly positive, with joy, love, surprise, and excitement being common emotions expressed in online reviews, highlighting the potential for service robots to positively impact consumer delight.
Deffintion of e commerce?
5 answers
E-commerce, as defined by various studies, refers to the buying and selling of goods or services over the Internet. It involves online transactions between businesses and consumers, facilitated through electronic platforms. Research highlights that e-commerce offers numerous advantages such as increased convenience, wider reach, and potential cost savings for both suppliers and consumers. However, challenges like adapting to new paradigms, legal considerations, and the need for data protection are also emphasized in the literature. The evolution of e-commerce has transformed traditional business models, requiring organizations to understand customer values, adapt to virtual market demands, and leverage the opportunities presented by online platforms.
What are the main challenges faced by rural communities in terms of infrastructure and access to basic services?
5 answers
Rural communities face significant challenges in accessing basic services like healthcare, education, and sanitation, hindering economic growth and environmental sustainability. Access barriers to health services in rural areas include limited availability of human resources, inadequate infrastructure, financial constraints, and non-financial barriers related to acceptability. Additionally, rural areas often suffer from isolation, poor infrastructure, economic struggles, and safety concerns, leading to marginalized communities requiring integrated interventions for sustainable development. Infrastructure limitations in rural areas, exacerbated by factors like housing instability, intensify health disparities for rural Veterans, necessitating improvements in service delivery through reconfiguration of staff work, enhanced transportation resources, and increased access to technology and broadband Internet.
What are the main reasons why farmers may not have access to extension services in zimbabwe?
5 answers
Farmers in Zimbabwe may lack access to extension services due to various reasons. Firstly, the outbreak of COVID-19 restricted normal agricultural extension services, limiting direct farmer access. Additionally, poor technology and under-resourced extension departments contribute to inadequate extension delivery, as identified by extension officers. Moreover, communal farmers have a negative perception of government-led extension support, particularly in agricultural market assistance, with reasons including limited availability, insufficient knowledge, and lack of practical solutions provided by government extensions. These factors hinder farmers from receiving the necessary input, training, and support, impacting communal food production, food security, and income from agricultural enterprises in Zimbabwe.
How can service quality leadership be measured and evaluated?
5 answers
Service quality leadership can be measured and evaluated through various methods. One approach is to utilize tools like SERVQUAL to assess the satisfaction levels of customers or internal stakeholders. Additionally, focusing on Total Quality Management (TQM) principles can help in enhancing service quality by emphasizing leadership roles in optimizing service functions for both external and internal customers. Internal service quality dimensions within complex service environments, such as healthcare, can be evaluated through qualitative and quantitative research to understand the hierarchical, multidirectional, and multidimensional nature of service quality within internal service networks. By considering factors like customer expectations, equity, and the triadic nature of internal service quality evaluations, organizations can develop more effective measurement tools for assessing service quality leadership and overall managerial effectiveness.
What are the jobs in the Philippines that can be improved by ergonomics besides being a farmer?
5 answers
Ergonomics can significantly benefit various jobs in the Philippines beyond farming. For instance, the Philippine Jewelry Industry can leverage ergonomics to address ergonomic risk factors in small-scale jewelry enterprises, focusing on traditional handheld tools and improving workplace conditions. Additionally, the Embassy in the Philippines conducted an ergonomics audit to identify hazards and propose solutions to prevent musculoskeletal disorders among office employees, emphasizing the importance of ergonomics training and practical recommendations for management and employees.
