TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive mechanism of the [(η5-C5H5)Rh]-catalyzed cycloadditions of acetylene to benzene and of acetonitrile to 2-methylpyridine, based on an extensive and detailed exploration of the potential energy surfaces using density functional theory, is proposed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction of excited atomic nitrogen, N(2D), with the simplest alkene, C2H4, has been investigated under single-collision conditions in crossed beam experiments with mass spectrometric detection.
Abstract: The reaction of excited atomic nitrogen, N(2D), with the simplest alkene, C2H4, has been investigated under single-collision conditions in crossed beam experiments with mass spectrometric detection. The experimental results clearly show that the N/H exchange channel leading to compounds of gross formula C2H3N is the main reaction pathway and that the reaction proceeds through the formation of a bound intermediate. The title reaction may well be regarded as a good candidate to account for the formation of acetonitrile, CH3CN, in extraterrestrial environments such as the dense atmosphere of Saturn's moon Titan where the ultimate fate of product isomers other than acetonitrile itself, that is 2H-azirine, H2C(N)CH, and ketene imine, CH2CNH, is expected to be tautomerization to the most stable structure of acetonitrile.

TL;DR: In this paper, 2-Arylsubstituted benzimidazoles, quinoxalines, in 3,5-posi-tion substituted 2,6-dimethylpyridines, and 1,4-bis(alkylamino)-9,10-anthracenediones are easily prepared under mild conditions by means of benzofuroxan as oxidant.

TL;DR: The solubility of l-(+)-ascorbic acid in water, ethanol, methanol, propan-2-ol, acetone, acetonitrile, ethyl acetate, and tetrahydrofuran was measured by a gravimetrical method from (293 to 323) K as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The solubility of l-(+)-ascorbic acid in water, ethanol, methanol, propan-2-ol, acetone, acetonitrile, ethyl acetate, and tetrahydrofuran was measured by a gravimetrical method from (293 to 323) K, and the solubility data were correlated against temperature. The solubility of l-(+)-ascorbic acid in water and methanol was high compared with other solvents.

TL;DR: In this article, a mechanistic pathway for the hydroxylation of paraffinic and aromatic C-H bonds is suggested, and a dual function is postulated for the solvent in relation to its effects on kinetics.
Abstract: The oxidation of n-hexane with hydrogen peroxide, catalyzed by TS-1 in various solvents, is reported. The initial rate of reaction decreases in the order: t-butanol > t-butanol/water > methanol ≈ acetonitrile ≈ water, whereas the reverse trend was observed for the adsorption of n-hexane in the catalyst. A dual function is postulated for the solvent in relation to its effects on kinetics. It assists the sorption/desorption of reagents/products in TS-1 (passive role) and participates in the catalytic cycle, through interactions with polar species involved in it (active role). A mechanistic pathway for the hydroxylation of paraffinic and aromatic C–H bonds is suggested.
