TL;DR: In this article, a thermoanalytical study of activated aluminum oxides of three acidities and water concentrations corresponding to Brockmann activity I-V showed that three types of water could be detected on the aluminum oxide, namely free water, pore water, and bound water.

TL;DR: In this paper, the adsorption of tritiated water vapor on molecular sieves 5A and 13X, silica gel and activated alumina was investigated in the small column experiments.
Abstract: The adsorption of tritiated water vapor on molecular sieves 5A and 13X, silica gel and activated alumina was investigated in the small column experiments. The results were analyzed by a simple first order kinetic equation. The adsorption characteristics of the adsorbents are rationalized by the two important parameters, maximum adsorption capacity and adsorption rate constant, which were determined at various temperatures for each adsorbents. The column exhaustion experiments were also carried out. An equation was derived to express the correlation between breakthrough time and column length. A reasonable consistency has been noticed between the calculated and the observed results.

TL;DR: A PSA process for purifying a gas stream, for example, of air, by removing carbon dioxide impurity employs a blend or composite of activated alumina and a zeolite that is a selective adsorbent of carbon dioxide as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A PSA process for purifying a gas stream, for example, of air, by removal of carbon
dioxide impurity employs a blend or composite of activated alumina and a zeolite that
is a selective adsorbent of carbon dioxide. The combined adsorbent results in a
higher sieve specific product and lower vent loss as compared to a PSA process
utilising activated alumina alone. Any moisture present in the gas stream is removed
by the combination adsorbent or by a preliminary layer of desiccant. The method is
particularly useful for the prepurification of atmospheric air by pressure swing
adsorption.

Abstract: In this paper, experiments have been performed in order to determine the quantity of water produced from the atmospheric air using different desiccant materials named Silica gel, Activated alumina and Molecular sieve 13 X. On the bases of experimental results, a correlation is derived among the different temperatures and water production using Central Composite Design (CCD) of Response Surface Methodology. A newly designed solar glass desiccant box type system (SGDBS), three in number, has been used. Design parameters for the production of water has been taken as depth of material from the glass is 0.22 m, inclination in angle as 30°, effective thickness of glass as 3 mm and number of glazing as single. It has been found experimentally that the maximum quantity of water produced by Silica gel, Activated alumina and Molecular sieve 13 X is 160, 20 and 35 ml/kg/day, respectively. Whereas theoretically, value of water produced by the Silica gel, Activated alumina and Molecular sieve 13 X is 600, 28 a...
