TL;DR: In this article, the authors extended the concept of a travelling wave fed circularly polarized antenna to provide an active antenna with the capability to switch between right and left hand polarization, and measured data at 15GHz showed a good return loss in both states, with well behaved radiation characteristics.
Abstract: In this paper we have extended the concept of a travelling wave fed circularly polarized antenna [1,2], to provide an active antenna with the capability to switch between right and left hand polarization. The antenna was fabricated in a multilayer format using a newly available polymer material, with PIN diodes to perform the switching function. Measured data at 15GHz showed a good return loss in both states, with well behaved radiation characteristics. The design technique offers potential for further development to provide an integrated antenna with high functionality.

TL;DR: In this article, a multiple carrier radio system with a baseband subsystem and a plurality of polar modulators is described. But the system is not considered in this paper, since it is assumed that the polar modulator is mounted at antenna locations (e.g., in a base transceiver station (BTS)) above the ground.
Abstract: A multiple carrier radio system includes a baseband subsystem and a plurality of polar modulators. The polar modulators are mounted at antenna locations (e.g., in a base transceiver station (BTS)) above the ground), and are configured to receive modulation signals generated by the baseband subsystem. The plurality of polar modulators generates a plurality of modulated RF carrier signals using the modulation signals. The modulated RF carrier signals are radiated by a corresponding plurality of antenna elements coupled to the plurality of polar modulators.

TL;DR: In this paper, the advantages of integrating an electromagnetic antenna into the skin of an aircraft and the constraints imposed on the materials are described in two precise examples: an ultra broadband antenna for a counter-measure pod and an active antenna for X band radar.
Abstract: The advantages of integrating an electromagnetic antenna into the skin of an aircraft and the constraints imposed on the materials are described here in two precise examples: an ultra broadband antenna for a counter-measure pod and an active antenna for X band radar The first part of this paper shows the improved electromagnetic performances and the simplified production methods allowed by the integration of an omnidirectional spiral ultra broadband antenna into the radome, constituting the head of the counter-measure pod The performances of the preliminary version, made up of a flat spiral antenna localized behind its hemispheric radome, are described as a reference The various solutions used for the integration of the radiating spiral and its balun directly inside the hemispheric radome are then described, and the constraints applicable to the materials are given for each solution The second part of this paper investigates the problems faced when integrating an X band active radar antenna Finally, we examine the new possibilities available in the furtivity field

TL;DR: In this paper, a compact coupled microwave active antenna is presented, which consists of a square radiating element array on a polymer dielectric layer, and the antenna is obtained through technological optical processes and the parasitic patch phenomenon which increases the bandwidth.
Abstract: A compact coupled microwave active antenna is presented. This antenna is proximity fed, and consists of a square radiating element array on a polymer dielectric layer. The compactness of the antenna is obtained through technological optical processes and the parasitic patch phenomenon which increases the bandwidth.
