TL;DR: A procedure based on Bayesian compressive sensing (BCS) is presented for faster and robust diagnosis of failed elements in large planar antenna arrays and solved with a fast relevance vector machine (RVM).
Abstract: A procedure based on Bayesian compressive sensing (BCS) is presented for faster and robust diagnosis of failed elements in large planar antenna arrays. The traditional approaches exhibit some drawbacks in effectiveness and reliability in noisy data. From measured samples of the far-field pattern, planar array diagnosis is formulated within the Bayesian framework and solved with a fast relevance vector machine (RVM). A 10GHz 10 by 10 rectangular microstrip patch antenna array that emulates element failure via zero excitation is then considered to test the proposed procedure. BCS approach provides faster diagnosis and robust to additive noise.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a utility model for GPS active antenna module with high reliability, belonging to the area of communication technology, which is designed for improving the anti-interference and reliability of GPS active antennas.
Abstract: The utility model discloses GPS active antenna module with high reliability, belonging to the area of communication technology, which is designed for improving the anti-interference and reliability of GPS active antenna module. The utility model comprises a ceramic dielectric antenna, a low noise amplifier circuit and an electric connector connected together in series. The ceramic dielectric antenna is arranged on the one side of the PCB and connected on the input of the low noise amplifier circuit, and the low noise amplifier circuit is arranged on the other side of the PCB; the pre-band-pass filter circuit and the low noise field-effect amplifier circuit are arranged in a metal shielding cavity. The ceramic dielectric antenna and low noise amplifier circuit are positioned each side of the low noise amplifier PCB respectively, the each circuit is arranged in an individual metal shielding cavity, which provides good ability of anti-interference.

TL;DR: In this article, a patch antenna integrated with two Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA) is implemented to act as an Image Reject Mixer (IRM), which transforms a received radio frequency signal into two signals, which are out-of-phase to each other.
Abstract: A patch antenna integrated with two Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA) is implemented to act as an Image Reject Mixer (IRM). The low noise active antenna system transforms a received radio frequency signal into two signals, which are out-of phase to each other. The image signals can be cancelled by the IRM. The antenna, LNA's, mixers and local oscillator (LO) are integrated into a single Active Integrated Antenna (AIA) module. An external IF 90/spl deg/ hybrid coupler is required in the IRM. The advantages of the LNA active antenna mixer system are low noise, image signal rejection, low cost and simple circuitry of front-end, and improved receiver sensitivity.

TL;DR: In this paper, an active substrate integrated waveguide based dual-polarized directivity enhanced full-space scanning composite right/left handed leaky-wave antenna for polarimetric radar applications is proposed.
Abstract: An active substrate integrated waveguide based dual-polarized directivity enhanced full-space scanning composite right/left handed leaky-wave antenna for polarimetric radar applications is proposed. The proposed antenna is realized by using reflection type amplifiers to compensate both radiation and material losses, thereby increasing the effective aperture dimension and directivity of the antenna without compromising all unique features of metamaterial leaky-wave antenna including full frequency-scanning (backfire-to-endfire) capability and bilateral operation. Bilateral operation is essential in radar applications to allow both transmitting and receiving operations. The proposed dual-polarized full frequency-scanning polarimetric radar antenna may be operated in either: 1) linear slant (+45° and −45°) polarization mode, 2) linear horizontal/vertical polarization mode, or 3) right/left-handed circular polarization mode. This paper demonstrates the operation of the proposed active antenna in horizontal/vertical polarization mode. The realized active antenna shows directivity enhancement compared to its all passive counterpart.

Abstract: Harmonic suppressed active antenna integrated with power amplifier yields improved efficiency, higher output power and reduced harmonic radiation from transmitter front end. This paper presents different harmonic suppression techniques of active antenna integrated with power amplifier. This paper also proposes and demonstrates novel PBG engineered structures to suppress higher order harmonics of integrated active antenna.
