Abstract: The invention provides a phased array front end based on a nonlinear active antenna. A frequency source generates a transmission baseband signal which is distributed to a transmitting-receiving arrayby a power division network; the transmission baseband signal is filtered by a band-pass filter in the transmitting-receiving array; then the filtered transmission baseband signal is subjected to mixing with a local oscillator signal generated by an injection phase-locking array; the mixed signal is filtered by the band-pass filter to generate a transmission signal, and the transmission signal isamplified by a power amplifier after being selected by a transmitting-receiving switch; and finally the amplified signal is transmitted to an antenna through a circulator and radiated to the space. According to the invention, the phase of the local oscillator signal is controlled to realize beam pointing control. On one hand, the transmission loss of the array plane is reduced, and the efficiencyof the array plane is improved; and on the other hand, a microwave integrated chip or a micro microwave integrated chip is adopted to realize the chip design of the injection phase-locking array, theintegration level of the array plane is improved, the cost of the system is reduced, and the characteristics of high integration level and low cost are achieved.

Abstract: An equivalent port circuit and a method for designing and measuring a broadband active dipole antenna using an equivalent impedance circuit are provided to measure a gain and a noise factor of the broadband active dipole antenna without a specific facility like an anechoic chamber. An active dipole antenna measuring device includes an active antenna(100) and a measuring device(200). An active antenna includes an equivalent circuit(110) and an active circuit(120). An equivalent circuit has the antenna and the equivalent impedance. The equivalent circuit has a narrow band characteristic. The measuring device measures the characteristic of the active antenna. The measuring device includes a noise signal generator(210) and a noise factor analyzer(220). The noise signal generator measures the gain of the active antenna and the noise factor. The noise factor analyzer is connected to the active antenna.

Abstract: A new type of active antenna (self-radiating oscillator) is presented that consists of a half-wave dipole and a high electron mobility transistor (HEMT). An output power of 2.43 mW was measured at 14.5 GHz with a 24.1% DC-to-RF efficiency. The circuit should have applications in microwave and millimetre-wave power combining.
