TL;DR: In this article, a large-scale array antenna test system and a test method is presented, where the influence of the filter on the channel consistency can be eliminated in the test process, and the accurate channel error calibration data is provided for the active antenna system.
Abstract: The invention provides a large-scale array antenna test system and a test method. The test system comprises an antenna module which comprises n antenna units, wherein each antenna unit is provided with a radio frequency port; a filtering module which is integrated to the antenna module and comprises n filters, wherein each filter is provided with a first connection port serving as a test evaluation port and a second connection port opposite to the first connection port; a transmission module which is arranged between the antenna module and the filtering module, and comprises n transmission pieces, wherein the radio frequency ports and the second connection ports are connected in a one-to-one correspondence mode through the transmission pieces, the transmission piece is configured to be variable in working state and can form m groups of different electrical parameters by changing the working state, n is larger than or equal to 1, and m is larger than or equal to 4. According to the testsystem and method, the influence of the filter on the channel consistency can be eliminated in the test process, and the accurate channel error calibration data is provided for the active antenna system.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for varying the impedance of patch antennas is described, where both the phase and magnitude of the impedance can be varied in a wide range of different values.
Abstract: The paper describes a method for varying the impedance of patch antennas. With this method, both the phase and magnitude of the impedance can be varied in a wide range of different values. This gives us the possibility of integrating an antenna with a variety of different active microwave semiconductors. First we describe the method and its characteristics, such as the values of patch impedance which can be attained, and then we demonstrate an application of the method in the case of a patch antenna integrated with a low noise amplifier (LNA) in a receiver.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active antenna system and a signal processing module which allow for simple and short time recovery work in the case of failure.SOLUTION: An active antenna system includes an antenna body 5 internally provided with multiple antenna elements 6 and multiple antenna elements, and multiple signal processing modules 10 attached detachably to the inside of the antenna body, and processing radio signals transmitted and received by the multiple antenna elements. The antenna body includes an antenna housing section 71 where the multiple antenna elements are housed, a module housing section 72 placed on the opposite side to the antenna housing section in the transmission reception direction of the radio signals, and capable of housing a prescribed number of signal processing modules, and a prescribed number of connectors placed on the antenna housing section side in the module housing section, and where a prescribed number of signal processing modules are arranged toward the transmission reception direction. The module housing section is open so that the signal processing modules can be put in and out from the directions excepting the transmission reception direction and the opposite direction thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a low power microwave sensor that includes an active antenna module for transmitting first FMCW signal toward a target and for receiving second FMCw signal reflected from the target.
Abstract: A low power microwave sensor includes an active antenna module for transmitting first FMCW signal toward a target and for receiving second FMCW signal reflected from the target. The active antenna module includes a loop antenna and a RF transistor having a second port coupled to a transmitting end of the loop antenna and a control port coupled to a receiving end of the loop antenna, the control port and the second port are coupled to inversed phase signals. The RF transistor is used for demodulating the first FMCW signal and the second FMCW signal to generate beat frequency. Then another demodulator is used to demodulate the beat frequency signal to generate a Doppler signal. The microwave sensor utilizes circuitry to demodulate the FMCW signals in two stages, determines a range between the sensor and the target based on the beat frequency, and determines velocity of the target according to frequency of a Doppler signal, in lieu of using software. The sensor also regulates detecting ranges by setting range gates relating to FMCW signals and triggers functions based on the velocity of the target.
